I wonder what Kelvin McKenzie will have to say on this.

pigs? There is no need.
Whilst we are at it, we should also be jailing some ambulance workers and football administrators?
I can understand the verdict, but I hope it is left now. I know the verdict means that somebody is responsible for their deaths. Is it easy now to say A and B should have happened, but in the middle of a major incident like this, it isn't nearly so easy to make decisions. Jailing policemen and others that made mistakes isn't bringing the victims back.

No, police that colluded in covering up their failures need to be punished and seen to be punished. Politicians as well, but there will be no chance of that.

I think that is where we agree. The cover up was disgraceful, and anyone involved in that cover up should be charged for that. We have perjury laws, though not sure how easy it would be to prosecute 27 years later. I don't think you can blame many mps, they were told what happened by the ambulance service and the police.
But today's verdict was unlawful killling, and hence we are saying that people are criminally to blame for what happened on that day. What happened after doesn't change that. Today's verdict should result in prosecutions, but my view is that the verdict is probably enough.

Will anyone be facing jail time or other punitive measures? I've been looking around all day and haven't heard any mention of it.

With the Crown Prosecution to decide if charges brought. News said it's usual for charges to be brought after a jury verdict like yesterdays.

David Duckerfield would be the obvious one. The coroner is reported as telling the jury that to [give a verdict of unlawful killing] they had
to be sure that Duckenfield was responsible for their manslaughter by gross negligence
.
The jury had to answer 4 key questions to make this true.
Firstly, that as match commander, Mr Duckenfield owed a duty of care to the 96 who died.
Secondly, that he was in breach of that duty of care.
Thirdly, they must be sure that the breach of Mr Duckenfield’s duty of care caused the deaths.
Finally, the jury must be sure that the breach which caused the deaths amounted to “gross negligence.”
Unless they are sure on all the four questions they should not conclude the fans were unlawfully killed, jurors were told.

Duckenfield has been tried once, the jury could not reach a decision so he was illegal limbo, the judge ruled he could not be retried - although this can be overturned if he can get a fair trial.

The law has changed and you can now be tried again for the same offense in serious crimes if substantial new evidence appears.

How badly injured is Coutinho after coming off at half-time yesterday?

The reports I heard was that he was "unwell", rather than injured. Might just be media talk though.
He's a delight to watch, for sure, & they'd miss him dreadfully.

The ending has been changed to bring in the inquest result and it is on BBC2 on Sunday. The maker of the film have suggested people watch the new version. It will be on i player for those grinding.
