Well it just seemed that if you can drink 7 litres in 90 minutes and survive if your bladder is working properly then something odd must have happened for someone to die after drinking 4 litres in 2 hours.
As I stated earlier.....
Every human being is different, & we all have varying tolerance levels.
The human body is not a software programme! There are a thousand, ten thouand, variables at work here.
Avoid excess - be it water, or drugs, & you'll be OK.

I meant after taking ecstasy and then drinking too much water - in exactly the same way as Leah Betts died.

b) Her bladder would have functioned properly, enabling her to pass water. The Ecstasy contributed to her inability to pass the water she drunk - to overcome the Ectasy side effects.
wasn't it water retention in the brain that killed her rather than anything to do with the bladder?
not that that changes your point, it was the drug in combination with duff government advice that killed her, neither in isolation was likely to do it. a most unfortunate case really, take a drug that on it's own is generally considered safe, combine it with an amount of water that on it's own won't kill and you have a deadly combination.
After the event her dad toured schools and gave talks on the dangers of drugs, he visited my school. I don't remember drinking too much water being mentioned during the talk at all, indeed I only found out that was the cause of her death years later when I was doing some research.
How many children received that talk in total? How many of them subsequently took ecstasy? How many of those died from drinking too much water?
I was going to see if I could find some info on that but the first page I found on google (a bbc news article) had the following quote:
Quote
"Much recent coverage of ecstasy has obscured the real information young people need in order to minimise the risks and decrease the death toll."
standard
as opposed to choosing how to educate children about drugs they chose the: "lets make sure they never ever ever take drugs and if you take one pill it will kill you" approach.

To quote the Chief Constable of North Wales Police, in January of this year:
"The scaremongering around ecstasy, and the refusal by many in politics and the media to face up to the realities of drug use and abuse is actually causing the unnecessary and tragic death of young people"

I think you'll find it's actually very few, still too many though when it could have been zero if the wrong acvice hadn't been issued.
deaths in which ecstasy is named as a contributary factor run at about 50ish a year, the bulk of them are from heatstroke like symptoms as the drug inteferes with the body's ability to regulate heat and unfortunately people tend to dance a lot in hot clubs when they've taken it.

Moving swiftly on, because I'm old & obdurate, & we'll never agree on this drugs thing.
Let's just change the subject.
Here's Amy.

i read the other day, can't remember where might even have been on blonde, that when you take heroin you get so constipated that when you do go once every 2 weeks or whatever it's meant to be like pooping a 7lb cannon ball wrapped in sandpaper.
why don't the government say that instead of "just say no" would put people off wouldn't it?

But in bygone days, lack of salt was said to be a killer.
that's because it was. it's one of those things that's been pretty much eradicated now though as anyone suffering from a severe lack of salt can have it replaced with an iv drip, something which even countries with the lowest level of healthcare are capable of
back when you were a kid in the days before iv drips you couldn't replace the salt quick enough and people would die
They still do, in Zimbabwe, thanks to Mugabe.
not true, that whole thing is a chemical weapon attack by the british. they just said it on the news. astonishing the things that that twat's spokesmen come out with

In the midst of a side-spliittingly funny & bewildering exchange between bolt & totalise overnight, bolty conjured up this little piece of jibber jabber. I'm becoming convinced he is the reincarnation of Spike Milligan.
let me tell you what happend, i got my map of the stars out and done a few predictions, now i havnt dabbled in the old astrology for a while cos i seem to be reading the planets wrong lately, i cant get a placepot up or anything, well this illistrates how far out i am................
after my last session of astrological predictions i wrote down the following: "I vet they hot the bong pan"
