Great sound, that engine, eh?
The Spitfires were powered by either Merlin, or Griffon, engines, both producerd by Rolls-Royce.
There was a very strange difference between the two engines - in fact, there was an oddity about Griffon engines that would be unique, I'd think. Certainly, it was the very opposite to the Merlin in this respect. Anyone know what it was?

It's a "Griffon", which some nerd mis-spelt somewhere, & then via internet multiplication, the mis-spell took hold.
