OK - here's a long shot at the Tolstoy thing.  Did Compo get his hand nicknames mixed up and refer to  as 'Anna Karenina' rather than the more popular nickname 'Anna Kournakova'?

EXCELLENT. But wrong.

Sad

Wormster, meanwhile, goes off to Saratoga or somesuch, to take in some American horse racing.

I'm off to Del Mark for a weeks racing with my good friend (& handicapping legend) Dave "The Maven" Gutfreund. Del Mar just looks beautiful & is nicknamed "Where The Turf Meets The Surf" - the Pacific Ocean is about a 9-Iron away from the home turn.

It was built by Bing Crosby, and some of his Hollywood buddies, in the 30s. Before 1st Post they play Bing's song, have a listen here:

Anyway, congrats to Tikay on another win & as we start to wrap up this trip, I'd just like to say how much fun it's been out here. We've had some long tiring days (& some very boozy ones too!) but I hope the effort the whole team has put in, comes across in our 3 Vegas Specials.

See you all soon,
Wormster

Eventually, we set off for the Hoover Dam in the Mustang. Wow, WHAT an engineering marvel, carved out of the rock in a desert that is unforgiveably hot, is that Dam. The entire Construction Contract was for 48 million dollars (in 1930), for which they got the dam, & all the iinfrastructure & power gerneration that goes with it, a new road & railway from Las Vegas, & Boulder City, purpose built for 7,000 workers to live in. Awesome, just awesome. We filmed 3 or 4 "Postcards" for Sky Poker there.

Thoroughly enjoying the diary, Tikay, but this in  particular caught my eye...

Eck and Bainn, please take note.... (and enjoy your trip Eck and Debbie!)

Todays daily Production meeting was put back till 1pm, & I awoke, after 10 hours straight kip, at 1.04 pm.....

Rushed down there, feeling awful. Too much work & play has caught up with me, & I feel awful.

Met Compo & we squared up our accounts of swapped %'s, everyone happy.

Then went back to my room & spent 2 hours on e-Mails & PM's, they come in relentlessly, (I'm pleased to say, in some ways) & if  get even a day behind, I'll drown.

We convene in Tim's room at 4pm to view the rushes of our Vegas Show # 2, after which Compo & I have to "top & tail" it with comments & chat, which we wil do at the MGM suite tonight. Clearly, we need to see the footage first.

Then at 7pm we meet at the MGM & Jon Kalmar & his good lady will be there at 7.30, hopefully, with Roland de Wolfe in tow. We will do our Interviews & chat & stuff, & I guess that will eat up most of the evening.

All that will leave is the Jeffrey Pollack interview tomorrow, then we are done & dusted.

Have had a ball, loved every minute, but I'm ready to come home now, to beautiful Derbyshire. I can't tell you how much I love the Derbyshire countryside, they have nothing to even remotely compare with it out here. Derbyshire is God's country, & that's where I wanna end my days, when the moment arrives. I'll be furious if i happens anywhere else. Wink

OK, off to "work" now.

xx

great read as always, tikay.

However, some guy in the pub told me that Wales was 'God's country'. Did God move? Was it not nice there?

Wales? It's our back garden, & really rather nice it is, too.

Well, this afrernoon we viewed the "rushes" of Show # 2, & the technical boys have done a whizzo job Editing it. We pretty much Interviewed Jon every day, & the Scotty Nguyen pieces are pure TV magic. The Show starts airing on Sky Sports on Friday, & on Sky Poker thrice daily fom Saturday, & I do hope you can catch it.

OK, off to do some wore work now, Jon & Roland are on their way & the cameras & stuff are all set up. We are finalising Vegas Shows 2 & 3 tonight, so I need to take a change of shirts, & I'm fresh out of clean stuff, so I'd better go buy some fresh gear quick. Do they have a Marks & Sparks in Vegas?

No rest for the wicked.
