Hmmmm...I was waaaaaaaaay off!
Lol, sorry about that Dawn.
Honest to God, I thought everyone on earth knew the CRS term "boracic".
Note to self. Remember that Americans read this diary. Use short words.
PS - What about the Letterman story that broke this week? Wow! He's 62, & hes still messing with women. Who'd have thunk.
Blimey! I'd have no idea about the Letterman story if I hadn't read it here. Been working at the Killarney poker festival and not had much time for the lappy or telly since Thursday.
I'm delighted he stepped up to the plate and stuck in the blackmailer's eye, but it pisses me off that people in the spotlight have to deal with scum like that in the first place. Why should they have to defend or justify their personal life to anyone? Drives me up the wall.
Oh well. Must get moving. Have to be back to work at 11:00, so will catch up with this later.
Good luck at DTD tonight!!! xx

Anyway, the Chinese like detail.
See the weather in those photos? Bright & suinny, & a cloudless sky.
Well, The Times reported thusly.....
"....it was a picture perfect parade. Nothing was allowed to disturb the perfect choroegraphy.
Even the sky was deep blue thanks to cloud-seeding the previous night that scattered Beijing's usual grimy smog".
Tell me that ain't so. I'll ponder on that all weekend now.
The Chinese can, & do, mess with the weather at will? Messing with nature always ends in tears.
And those who suiffer so dreadfully from extreme weather, in, say, Bangladesh, or the Phillipines, won't be too impressed, either.
That really is the wow of the week for me. Cloud-seeding to make sure the day goes well.
I hope Wimbledon never get to hear about it. Unpredictable weather is such a wonderful thing, it tells us nature is in charge. And if we start cloud-seeding nonsense, it will end in tears. Floods of them.

I wrote about cloud-seeding on my diary around the time of the Olympics. Found it a real shocker, cloud seeding through the bidding process, and the games itself, to ensure the Beijing smog temporarily disappeared

It's a stunning story, & Letterman delivered it Live, on air! The blackmailer was a quite well known Producer, I believe. Joe Haldeman?

Sorry Rich, I missed that.
What a scary thing to do, messing with nature for purposes of ceremonial pomp.

Stayed down in London last night, was up bright & early, & I will set off forthe long drive North to DTD Nottingham in 5 minutes. Doubtless I can play the 2pm start & still be home for tea.
One more story before I go, in case boldie starts nagging me again.
I was at the WSOP-E Final, the whole thing, from start to finish. Lots of tales to tell about that, but they'll have to wait awhile, except this interesting one. Or I thought it was interesting, anyway.
ESPN filmed the Final, big stylee too, 8 ped-mounted cameras & a boom. That's big money. Harrahs & ESPN are inseperable, & it's how Harrrah's help to monetise the WSOP - can't argue with that. It's the duty of Harrahs to maximise returns to their shareholders, & they do it well.
So, they are close to, & protective of, ESPN.
Well, when the Final got Heads-Up, which was to be a 5 hour gruel-athon, the rail was huge. Poker geeks sitting 2 metres fom Little Danny, it does not get better for them. Or for poker, really.
The way the camras were sited meant the Rail was in vision much of the time. Thats OK, we like to see the audience in the background, gives it atmo.
So a kid plonks himself down in the front row. Wearing a 'Stars hat......
The ESPN Director whispers in Jack Effel's ear (Jack is the WSOP TD, & very good he is, too), & Jack rushes acrossd to this kid & telkls him that he has to remove his hat, or leave. So the kid turned his hat round backwards stylee - no logo visible now - & sat there till the very end, enthralled at watching Little Danny.
The whole thing was that ESPN woiuld not allow a 'Stars logo to be in vision. So the spectator was told to get in line or get out.
Course, Kiddo might have been a plant, paid a grand or whatever by 'Stars to sit "in vision" waering the cap, though I doubt that
I can see both sides of this one, but it's interesting to see where the authority lies in poker. Not with the players, or the spectators, but with the TV Execs.

Players wages could not be paid yesterday at Portsmouth FC, & there is money overdue to staff at Notts County.
I Posted yesterday about how corrupt things have become, (Trillion etc) & the apathy towards it was mentioned by Tighty.
But football Boardrooms seem to attract as many dodgy chancers as poker.
And, as in poker, everybody buys the story.
How could anyone with an IQ of 3 or above not realise that the Notts County & Portsmouth Boardroom imports were as bent as nine-bob notes? (QPR is next on the agenda).
Society is not just corrupt, but it's gullible, too, & maybe that's what cultivates the skullduggery.
If you see a weasel sleeping, piss in its ear.

Letterman; would it be embarrassing if it became public, perhaps it would ... especially for the women.

Hard to make up some of these things sometimes but the name of David Letterman's production company, is, truly, Worldwide Pants.

. Everything comes to those who wait.
It does?
It's one of the baffling things in poker to me. People can grim other people, openly, and grim hundreds of other people, and then show their face at event after event with the subject of money owed not even rearing its head.
This is the first time I have heard of Kallakis on the big boys circuit for a good nine months though
It's utterly astonishing Rich, it just is. I had heard they had been playing the high limit Cash Tables at Palm Beach & other London venues recently.
No point getting upset, the smart way is to get even.
We will get our pound of flesh, one way or another. That's how life works.
I'd far rather be boracic with a clean conscience, than
boracic
with a guilty one.
What does this word mean?
Is it an Ali G production?
I is not Ali G, innit?
"boracic" is CRS for "skint, broke, busto, no money".
Boracic lint = skint.
Ahhhhhhhhhhhh I thought that was spelt brassic! Every day is a school day.
