Blah blah blah

Blah blah blah

I haz Twitter.

FYP

And you reckon you're no good at this internet promotion stuff?

Lolz. I slipped it in, & wondered if anyone would notice. You are allowed, as you have dual blonde & SP Membership.

I don't see the name "DrMarbles" in tonight's splendidly structured £11 jobbie, at 8.30pm, though. Or even Uzi-Lover.

PS - PLAY DTD NOW via blonde. And ALWAYS. EXCEPT 8.30pm TONIGHT.

Oh my word!

I think that was 3 years back, though.

If only we could turn the clock back.

Well I'm taking my little camera with me, & they'll be on the Diary again, for sure.

Was missing for a day and come back to find 6 pages of Tikay's Diary to read!  A welcome sight to say the very least.

Glad to hear so many other things are going right for you and here's hoping your next visit on blonde isn't a 'forced' one.  Plenty of decent folk around the place who miss you, whether ya like it or not.  xx

Oooo one poster I missed out from my list who is a tremendous asset to this community.

Tank.

I didn't realise until I can across Thomas that Scottish people could be so wise.

Obviously great to see some posts from Tikay on here again and have to totally agree with the comments about the work Tighty does both on here and for the poker community at large. It is fair to say this is also true of Tikay.

Blonde is still a good place to be for the most part. I have only been here recently (I registered years ago but was not really active for ages) but have found everybody to be really friendly and I have been lucky enough to get to meet and play with some of the posters on Blonde and think it is fair to say overall there is still a great community spirt. Yes I would have thought Blonde has had to change over the years, poker is always going to be one of those games where people come and go but the fact Blonde is still going strong says a lot about the posters and the people who run it (mods included).

I hope Tikay continues to post here on a regular basis.

G-Luton, from July 1st, have started a new wheeze.

IF - & only of - you register 15 minutes BEFORE the advertised start time, you get an extra 1,500 (I think, it may be 2,000) starting chips.

Its easy to see the potential problems this may cause, with folks in the queue claiming they WOULD have been 15 mins early but for a delay in Reception, & all sorts of dodges by players trying to find a work-round, but hats off to the G for at least showing some initiative.

Fair to say, if I get there 15 minutes early, & the comp starts late - as it invariably does there - the smartarse comments wll be in full-flow.

The root cause of the idea, I suspect, is the Grosvenor wide edict of refusing to allow new Tables to be opened once the Comp starts.

Sunday was typical - at advertised start time, there were only 15 players present, so 3 Tables was the probable maximum. They delayed the start - you can see why, though I think that's wrong wrong wrong. I took the time & trouble to be there on time, & so had to waste 30 minutes to accomodate latecomers. How can that be right? Anyway, eventually, they started 30 minutes late with 20+ players, & 50 players or so turned up in the end, so all was well.

So back to those "bonus" starting chips. Is that really fair, or correct, to give some players a chip advantage over others? Is it fair to reward punctuality? Currently, late players are penalised 1.5 x BB. Why not penalise them 1,500?

Interesting decision, & I fancy, & not one that G-Luton will escape negative comment about. But fair play to them for trying something different.

I'm just not convinced that's fair, or correct, though.

as I understand it, there's not just a 1500 bonus for registering 15 minutes early, but also a 1500 penalty for registering after the start of the tournament, so in a tournament with an advertised 10k stack players will start with either 11.5k, 10k, or 8.5k

I welcome the initiave - Sunday's are a great example - over recent weeks less than 10 registered at the start has been the norm, with latecomers then complaining that they can't get a seat after the few tables that are opened fill up.

For who?

I ventured onto 2 + 2 this afternoon. There was some discussion about SP going off, so I was in like a shot, replying. I fully expect to get battered by the kids.
