Also Jim, to say they had a shot to win their own money back is a little unfair - they actually had a shot to win £10k - which is far more than they contributed

I didnt think on the whole league was a terrible thing. Not the greatest, but not terrible. Everyone had a shot at 10k, an even chance, and if you didnt like the contribution system then u didnt go. Simple really.

I didn't have a shot at the 10k.
I didn't like the contribution system.
I did go.

Yep, worded that wrong, in fact wrote it without thinking!!!
What i meant was, if you didnt want to contribute towards it then u didnt go, simple!!
If you wanted to go regularly and qualify ( which 99% of the regulars did) then everyone had a shot at 10k.

It was done rightly or wrongly and everyone knew it was on, and whether we liked it or not it wasnt going to be stopped. Its never gonna happen again. And people voted with their feet. Thats their right.

Jim, you DONT go to your local Casino though do you ?
Even so, I go back to my "hand in the fire" line - no, if you dont like something, then dont do it. Do something else

So if i find a casino where i make a long term profit i should go somewhere else for 4 months
that makes sense

Not everone knew that is was on. Not quite. i played several comps where half way through the night new players kept saying whats this league contribution thing. I never signed up for this. Most people only found out afterwards no-one was informed before they bought in

Jim, its YOUR choice to go or not to go - thats my point.
Red, I stayed away on several occassions I would normally have gone, more to do with the lack of numbers though.

So in spite of your "hand in the fire" analogy, you didn't like it, but you still went sometimes, just like the rest of us.
