Not to mention the fact that Tikay already feels like he's playing catch up on this diary at the minute.  Will take him a week to get through all yer debates.

Red, I stayed away on several occassions I would normally have gone, more to do with the lack of numbers though.

So in spite of your "hand in the fire" analogy, you didn't like it, but you still went sometimes, just like the rest of us.

Indeed I did.

I will finish by saying that imo the idea was a good one, it was just organised and reported wrong - I think a better way of organising (and paying for) could of been found.

Maybe thats the answer flushy

the communication from the casino to the players has been terrible

if the whole thing had been operated better i dont think it would of caused so many problems.   I know Walsall recently did something similar and theres was for 50k. I havent heard a single complaint about it

it aint what you do its the way that you do it   thats what gets results

And that was a mistake.

It was a £250 Pull-Up £5 £5 affair.

"Hi Guys, hows it going?", & I said Hi to the Dealer, too. No reply. From any of them. Of the 6 players, 2 were reading newspapers, two had i-Pods on, one was asleep.

We sat there, in total silence, for 45 minutes.

Eventually, I pipe up. "Is it always this much fun here guys?".

"What do you want us to say, we are not obliged to talk, are we?" came a single response. Oops.....

LOL,

I was down there for a previous APAT sat and on one of the cash games, there was a guy with a cd walkman on, a HUGH pile of about 30 cds and he was reading a book!    Interesting game eh Cheesy

Sod communication, what about consensus?

BTW have to say that the argument about folks not being able to cash therefore never lost anything are at best odd at worse stupid.

How is it stupid?

My point was, if you didnt cash (in any qualifying event you played in) then the league "contribution" does not directly affect you - none of your winnings is lost in league contributions - because you have no winnings.

It was then possible, to qualify for the 30G league WITHOUT suffering ANY deduction . ie your "loss of winnings" from the league "contribution" COULD infact be NILL - it would be the likes of Ian, Dick (to name a few) that would suffer the loss of the "league contribution" and "paid" for your entry.

That was what I was trying to say.

Paul this is misleading though, it was taken as a % of buy ins so even if you didn't cash once its still some of your money in the pot!

its irrelevant as to whether one is or isn't a winning player over the period as to the inequitable nature of the promotion

I think ideas like this are good in principle for those that want to take part.  Perhaps a way round it would be to have an additional optional charge for those that want to take part which would go into a separate fund, rather than taking money out of the regular prizepool.  Only those 'opting in' to a particular game would earn league points.
