... but I need to go & Wiki her. "Wiki" is now a verb, obv. Wink

'Wiki', as a verb or noun, is not synonymous or interchangeable with 'wikipedia'.

Look at wikipedia's own page on what a 'wiki' is:  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wiki

Wondered how long you'd let that slide.  You're slipping a bit Kin.  He's been doing it with ages.

Hey Tony. At sky do you ever come across a guy called Keith Arthur. In a previous life I was a semi professional match angler and he is very much in a similar mould to you. He presents a programme on sky called tight lines. He is  heavily involved with Barry hearns Matchroom and the fishomania competition they run. People only ever see the few hours of tv broadcasts and not the hard work that goes on behind the scenes.

Yes, I see him every week, when he records "Tight Lines", we usually bump into each other in Make-Up.

What an enthusiast!

He records his stuff in the Studio next to ours, & the "talkback" (the gallery feed in our ear) "leaks" from next door into my earpiece, & I get fixated by listening to his utter unbridled enthusiasm.

Listening/watching experts who have youthful enthusiasm is the best it gets, even if the subject matter holds little interest. (Witness Patrick Moore).

PS - Never knew you were once a tidy angler - ship me a link to your Hendon Mob Angling Profile, please.

yes sponsored by browning (of shot gun fame) and went to seville to fish the world club champs representing england after my team from scunthorpe won the all england national in '96. i dont know keith personally but met him a few times but still speak to a lot of the top anglers in this country. may bore you about fishing next time i see you.

Kin, sure you can have Wiki and a wiki, bit like the difference between the Internet and an internet.

My contribution from Wiki is this article about how painful insect stings are:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schmidt_Sting_Pain_Index

Here's an excerpt: "2.0 Yellowjacket: Hot and smoky, almost irreverent. Imagine W. C. Fields extinguishing a cigar on your tongue."

I mentioned on Tom's diary a while back how much I enjoy listening to this guy. I don't have any real interest in fishing  but frequently have the Tight Lines programme running in the background and find his manner very soothing.

The capitalisation is irrelevant.  I was talking about wikipedia being synonymous with wiki - which is isn't.

I've heard that quote before - brilliant.

it is if it becomes so through popular usage imo

Yes, but popular generally means more than one (very generous) old man.  Unless of course 'popular' now means something else as well...

I'm in late-stage dither on that, probably 30/70 not to, though on reflection, 40-60 to play. Probably 45/60.

The ME falls during my "work" period. Sky Poker are paying for the work trip, & have been exceptionally good, & fair, to me, so it'd be a bit rich to accept their annual Vegas Freebie & then ask for a day off. Or two or more days off....

So probably not, but as I say, still dithering.

I dither a lot these days.

You don't ask for a day off, you pitch a concept for a show "tikay in the ME". I'd think up a snappier title, but you get the gist.

I'm sort of having a day or two's break, or rest, today & tomorrow, & have sorted a few personal bits & bobs.

I now have to go & get 2 rear tyres, (one each side.....) bugger. Dare not leave it any longer, just noticed they are "grinning", whoops.

Tonight, I shall mostly be doing whatever I fancy.

The current selection seems to be.....

1) Go to "The Vic" & play the £300.

2) Stay in, & play the £110 "Sky Roller" on Sky Poker.

3) Do something naughty.

4) Do nothing.

5) Treat myself to stay somewhere posh tonight.

6) Go to G-Luton.

3 is a non-runner (sell-by date probs), & 4 is not an option, 6 is highly unlikely.

I'm off for an urgent dither now.

Nice thinking. Be an exciting Show, that, watching me fold for 3 days straight. Wink

Deffo worth consideration, but I hate the thought that it sounds like I'm asking a favour. I don't like asking favours.

I'm still not convinced it's a good idea to play the Main, but if I did, I'd deffo want to do some sort of community-based thing.

Time for another dith.
