Love these explosive arguments that pop up from nowhere between Yanks.
Squarehead makes it 2200 at 300-600, noisy beard dude in seat 1 calls, shorty in seat 2 shoves for 4000 total. Squarehead now shoves 50k, fair enough with QQ. Still about 100 players left.
Beardy: "You ever played a tournament before?"
Squarehead, cool as you like: "Why don't you just stfu, I paid my fking $350, we'll go outside if you like?"
Beardy stands up and it all goes nico for 5mins. Very funny.
Not sure I understand that. Which one are you, SquareHead or Beardy?
Had them both covered. Beardy was the guy I rivered the king against. He sure was pleasant.

Mr K said......
Your PLO8 hand sounds ridic ul, did u work out the % afterwards? Sounds like you're playing really well, keep it up....and then let's get back into the live cash at the Vic again!
Which is true, but I've had coolers both ways, so no complaints.
I've really had to force myself to play much more aggro this trip, & if truth be known, it's not worked for me in Tourneys.
In that Hi-Lo hand, I tried to think what Flushy would do - lol if you like, but I did! - & I'm pretty sure that a), he would not have got himself in such a mess so early in the hand, & b) he would approve of more aggro being better than my usual "waiting to hit & so losing the value" approach I usually practice.
I had every draw imaginable, nut flush, nut low, any this that or the other, but it double paired, & that was that. Felt a bit silly when I missed the lot, I really did.
My other regret was in the $1k NLHE, when, imo, I overplayed AK early doors, there was no need, but the way the betting went, I sort of got myself stuck in the end, & had to call-off. Honestly, if Dom had not been sitting next to me, I woulda have folded! I opened to 600, Villain made it 2,200, I made it 5k, he shoved for 8k total, so not much more to me, but I knew I was in a world of pain by then. I was playing a lot more than him - I covered by 6k, so that was key, I guess. He had K-K, but I think he plays J-J & Q-Q the same.
All good experience for when I'm older though.

Reading the Keith Richards Bio, he mentioned something which rang a dreadful bell with me - the awfully named Metropolitan Asylums board.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Metropolitan_Asylums_Board
These walled institutions were ten a penny not so long ago, as kids we called them, shame on us, "loony bins".
As I grew up, I got to visit several, I had family working in them, & later, I did some Contracting work in one, fitting high spec airlock doors & locks, & I shudder at the sights I saw.
I visited one in Reigate regularly, & there was another in Hanwell, West London, on the Uxbridge Road.
I helped out at the Xmas function in the Reigate one once, & I still shudder at the memory. The Staff who work there deserve medals, & as for the inmates, well, it's hard to know what to say. And even now, many poker players love to use the word "mong", check out "find a player" on any Online Room. Not sure who to feel most sorry for.
Glory be & gratitude for a lifetime free from illness.

USA Today reports that "Call of Duty, Modern Warfare 3" has grossed $775 million in 5 days, & is now a brand on a par with "Star Wars" & "Henry Potter".
What?!
Incredible how life has changed, these "let's pretend" games are absolutely massive. Have you seen "Football Manager", where grown ups live the dream & pretend to be Football Managers? Incredible stuff!
We can so easily mock, though, but we all have our "let's pretend" moments. I've witnessed, recently, Morris Dancers, Jousting Tournaments, "Peace Camps", anti Globalisation protests, anglers - how angling has changed, with all the pricey gear these days - all sorts. And I guess its the thing to look at these weird hobbies - weird to us, maybe - & sort of smile.
I've gone all nature loopy, ornithology, walking around Britain's reservoirs, da de da.
Each to their own though, nowt wrong with that.

This summer I was in a PLO cash game at the Venetian when a German dealer sits down.
2 minutes later and a chap comes over and asks if we're playing Omaha....few nods and a greeting from the dealer.
Few minutes later and he stacks off with absolutely nothing and turns over A2 to try and claim half the pot. We're all a bit stunned until I realise the dealer's strong accent of 'HELLO' did sound a lot like 'HI-LO' and caused the guy to do his 4 or 500 bucks.
Everyone found it quite funny when they realised what had happened....him, not so much.

Ever heard of a chap called "Ashley Abram"?
No, nor me, but he must be well minted. Struggling to find much about him, but if I understand the tale correctly - not a given - he's the man behind "Now!, Thats What I Call Music", & has been since day one.
He must be worth a tidy penny.

It was heaven in Venetian yesterday.
My Table was right in front of the Sports Betting Hall. The Sports Betting screens - all in HD - was split into 37 screens, including two giant ones, & 16 monster ones, with every sport imaginable covered live.
They were showing, amongst much else, the Jets v the Denver whatsits, & there was a huge crowd watching, cheering every "play", wonderful atmo, great to see, & be part of.
Nice touch by Cantor Sports, too, who provide free Wi-Fi in that area to facilitate Online Gaming. So there were guys at my table playing poker, watching their NFL bets, all sorts. For a gambler, how good does it get?
Meanwhile, the recession continues. Or so they say. Personally, I've never seen so much disposable income disposed of. What times we live in! 2 pages back, scotty Posted a 1950's Video, what a contrast.

Football manager is amazing. I once met a guy on a plane that worked on it and all of the ratings on the various players (and they cover every league and team imaginable in every country) are derived from proper scouting and reviewing of videos etc. I was so impressed that when I was betting soccer very seriously for some guys in Asia I used to buy it every year so that I could use it to assess the likely backups and fall off in talent when starters were injured in European competitions. They were incredibly accurate and saved me a ton of work and effort in deciphering players for teams like BATE Borisov and Rubin Kazan.

Did you mention the 1950's?
My dad had a Humber Super Snipe which I've not had the opportunity to brag about for some time now.
I also tried to use my [ ] considerable IT skills to post a pic of the aforementioned motor-vehicle...
