I can't see it happening over here. Hills kind of have the right idea. The amount of markets you can bet on in Vegas casinos is pretty pathetic really and the margins they bet to are even more pathetic outside the regular big US sports lines.
Prem footy games are bet to about 116%, there more as a service than anything else. Try the first TD scorer in the super bowl and the % will be scandalous. Hills are trying to set up a rev share with some out there with the deal they will price up everything outside the match money lines and handicaps. So taking an NFL game for example, all the side markets will be done by the new 'firm', same for baseball/basketball and to % that punters will feel are acceptable.
Hills already have these markets available to acceptable % on their Sportsbook, but at the moment sending those markets to be traded in the US isn't technically legal on some points. The wire act legislation being the main problem.
B and M exes are only going to get worse too. Five to ten years ago Bet365 sold off almost every shop they had, started their online business from a cabin in a car park and are now the highest turnover sportsbook only bookmaker there is.
That was simply getting the idea of the way it was heading before everyone else really.

Tikay, how many scarves do you own?
No idea, Dawn.
In my new posh
house
residence, I have a dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer, 4 TV's, & a whole scarf section in the wardrobe.
Posh, or what?
4 TVs!!! Why on earth do you need 4 TVs?
I assume you live on your own the same as myself? Admittedly I have 5 but I only ever watch 1. The others are just for show in case I ever have a visitor.
You don't seem the showy type so I assume you actually need them?
I don't! It was not a chirp at all, just part of a daft comment really, but I do have 4 - Lounge, Kitchen, Study, & Bedroom. At my real home, I have "just" the one, & will never have more than that. It's not even a plasma jobbie.
The London place is sort of rented, I'm a "caretaker tenant" for a good friend, & it came fully-furnished, exactly as she lived in it, everything, top to bottom. Some "interesting" chintzy furniture & drapes, too, though it does not bother me.
I watch the TV in the lounge, & it is "linked" to the one in the kitchen, so I may have that on when I am up & down messing around in the kitchen, but I have never even switched on the ones in the Study or Bedroom. I have never watched TV in bed in my entire life, it jut seems so wrong, & I never will, bed is for reading & sleeping. Mostly. I like to read for an hour each night in bed, if I can, delicious, almost the best part of the evening.
For show in case I have visitors? I don't have visitors, as such, & don't encourage them, I like solitude at home. I never had them at my own place, in Ilkeston, either, apart from occasional girlfriends, back in the day. That's girlfriends, occasionally, not the other way round.

oops!
If we are going into unintentional slip ups...I think I have told this before but.
I was on the race desk on a Saturday afternoon at Hills when it was really busy, the boat race was due to go off at 15.00 and at about 5 minutes past I got a call from a girl on the phones saying a guy wants a bet on the boat race. I tell her its suspended coz it was starting at 3 and she tells me the guy is watching it on the telly and says its not off yet. I go to stick the BBC on to see what's going on and they are just weighing all the teams before they can begin.
I turned up the sound and found it was delayed because the weight of the team was different from when they had weighed them earlier. I told the girl it was ok to take the bet , that they would be off soon and it was delayed because they were just weighing their cox at the moment......
Nice story, Phil.
I'm sure you are aware that many LBO's these days are now "single-manned" in the evenings, not sure I like that, from a staffing perspective. A regular reader of this Diary, from a less than salubrious part of the UK, tells me his wife is an LBO manager - for Ladbrokes, I think - & her Shop is now single-manned in the evenings. I think that's a step too far.
Sadly or otherwise, presumably all High St LBO's will close within the next 5 to 10 years? I was around at the birth of that business - in fact I spent years trying to buy one - & I'll still be around, with a dash of luck, when the business dies. Things happen so fast now.
4 betting shops robbed in Scunthorpe this week and tonight they robbed a western union 40 yards from my wife's betting shop. The most they have got is £1600 and most sums have been nearer £200

Oh, I see. I doubt he has been featured on the channel, the % of hands that get shown is pretty small, & he would have to play on a "TV Icon" table. With 5,000 players on the site every night, it's a bit of a needle in a haystack to show a particular players hands.
If his screen-name is "DerpDerp" he is running very deep in tonight's Main Event, 10th of 51 remaining from 447 runners, but not previously played a Tourney there for 4 months, according to sharkscope. There are 5 or 6 "DerpDerp" screen-name variations though, so not sure if it is the same chap.

yeh that will be him. 5 fig week ftw.
Part of my professional role is helping people choose where to play, giving then an action plan, where to be in 3 months, which sites to play on to extract the best first deposit bonuses, site with the lowest rake etc etc and of course i do this with people who i stake.
I really think atm the best two sites are sky and 888. Both have the worst rakeback system for somebody playing 20 to 50k hands a month which is generally the people im advising but the error most people do when thinking about what site to play on is focus on individual fixed percentages, numbers and figures rather than the one most important, hourly rate.
I really think you guys are doing a good job and i expect you to be market leaders (alongside bwinparty and 888) in the next 5 years. Not in terms of overal players as this is obviously not your objective but more in terms of player retention and site growth (year on year)
did you see the post i made in the rail about "the future of poker" probably quite an interesting read.
