Talking of books, a quick question for a Forum which has quite a leaning towards betting, horseracing, & the like.

Which blonde - very well known on blonde, though maybe not so much in the real world - has authored, or co-authored, at LEAST one book, possibly two, on horse race betting?

One of them, research tells me, is the definitive book on the particular, albeit rather narrow, subject.

Chompy?

Effect of draw in flat races I seem to recall owning, but its disappeared, did you borrow it! Smiley

How do you stack my books?

I hear you!

When will I next see you - will you be at DTD next weekend? If so, I'll bring them along. There were 4, as I recall, yes?

Only four, he got off lightly.

Oh God. Remind me, Ralph.....

The Paul Raymond book springs to mind immediately, as does an Omaha strategy book.

If I went home & studied the bookshelves, I'm sure I could recall the rest, but a nudge would be helpful. Sorry!

I can't actually remember Tony although there is a Damon Runyan book too.

I'm really not that bothered about them just couldn't help myself poking a little fun...

Might come back a little soggy Ralph

Hope the joke not too sensitive Tikay - but I have been meaning to ask you for ages about your leak last xmas.

Is everything sorted now, I know how painfully difficult these things can be - especially with a bad loss adjuster.

I know you can never replace some things, but I hope at least the house is ship shape again!

new hand history available, best to keep posting them here teeks?

I don't mind where you Post them Patrick, but I would be delighted if you Post them here, of course I would, as they are quite amusing.

As a personal favour, though, & in line with the tone of this Diary - the readership is very genteel -  & in particular my personal mindset, I would rather that the "villain" was not always described as a "fish"!

Happy to discuss "why", if you so desire.

Post away, please, the more the merrier, but please respect the "villains", at least on this thread - they are your bread & butter!

Love those GIF things you Post, though, very clever.

I think if I had a wife  who so much as touched my books, divorce would be instant, on the grounds of completely unreasonable behaviour.

Quick “good luck” to our very own “DMorgan” in tonight’s £110 Bounty Hunter. A lot of poker players are a bit snobbish about these, but quite a few decent players have worked out the secret, & earn a good deal out of them.

Dan actually won last night’s Friday renewal, it is one of the nightly £110 Tourneys, which alternate between Bounty Hunters & “Rollers”.

Here’s the thing, though – the runner up last week to Dan Morgan was none other than our very own resident female (according to Tom) -  “Doobs”.

I know Doobs screen-name next door, so I ‘scoped him this morning, & how about this for running hot, & also getting it quietly?

In his last 12 Tourneys next door, mainly the 9pm £110’s, his record is…..

£110 Tourney, 2nd of 42, £1,250.

£110 Tourney, 3rd  of 60, £562.97

£110 Tourney, 2nd of 53, £672.08

£50 Tourney, 2nd of 295, £2,281.25

About time he won one, imo.

David Mitchell is great - possibly on telly a bit too much - but yes, I also put him in the Stephen Fry category. Plus he is the best thing about Peep Show, which is one of the best UK sitcoms in years.

Question for Camel - does he go on little 'angry at dissecting minor nuances of what someone just said' type rants in real life or is he a bit more relaxed?

Question for Tikay - why no love for Branson? I'm not fussed either way, but figured he would be on your list of man crushes for what he has achieved. Is it the beard?

I assume you have never tried to read or decipher Virgin Group Accounts Barry?

Brings a whole new meaning to "obfuscation".

The way he runs his businesses reminds me very much of Alan Maxwell.

He just strikes me, very strongly, as a wrong 'un. His eyes are very close together, too.

Is Alan related to Robert latterly referred to as "The Bouncing Czech" in Private Eye.

Sigh, I did it again. Senility arrives so quickly.

No need to remind me I almost caught you up today Wink

Tell us more!

The Forum "Diaries" fad has suddenly taken off next door, led by (or should that be "lead by"?) now-regular blonde & jolly good chap TommyD, who writes a splendid diary. Suddenly, there are 6 or 8 of them there.

The usual debate went off about whether diaries should have their own section, or energise/ruin the"General Poker" Board.

As usual, many cannot argue rationally or politely, shouting ftw, & so it all got a bit warm. So be it, been there, done that, bring it on.

This morning, it continued, not too bad really, with votes pretty much split, when suddenly, the entire "General Poker Chat" Board totally disappeared! Talk about conspiracy theories, facebook exploded with rumour & innuendo. It took 6 hours to "recover" it, & peace has been restored.

The culprit was a simple misclick, & for a while, I thought I may be to blame, as I have Admin rights there. Luckily, I never do misclucks.

Hi Old man
As you have said before there are watchers and doers i fall in to the former, But i have to say the TommyD Diary is wasted next door.
hope all is well.
DAI

Hi Plump Welsh bloke.

Not sure about “wasted”, though I know what you allude to, the demography (wrong word, I suspect, but you know what I mean) ) & forum mood & tone is very different next door.  I try not to suggest regulars there Post here, or vice-versa, as it takes quite an unusual individual to suit both forums, as they are so different. JAKALLY & I manage it, as does MACHKA, Squawky, TRIP5, & a few other oddbods, the case rests. Dylan - Big D used to post here, but he defected to Tom's Diary the fat tosser.

You are right in one regard though, TommyD’s diary would stand up well over here, too. He keeps it nice & fresh, with a very wide range of topics, probably 50/50 poker & non-poker, & he writes beautifully.

He wrote a beaut of a Post yesterday, in reply to a comment by Thewy, the subject being debated was whether Chris Ferguson would ever get another sponsorship deal. I thought this was a rather nice piece of writing, or “scribing” as Thewy called it.

“….On Ferguson, I really wouldn't be surprised to see him get a deal from a new room.  Picture the scene, it's the HQ of new American poker room 'StackedInOurFavourNowThisIsLegalAgain.com'  The business suits who are not poker players are discussing pros to endorse.

'Hey, who's that guy with the long hair who could cut a carrot with a card'

'Chris Ferguson, but we can't sign him, he was involved in that Full Tilt stuff'

'But he was a World Champion, and the vegetable cutting stuff would look so good on a commercial'

'But people don't trust him because of Full Tilt'

'I've got a report here that a load of people ran back to the new Full Tilt bought by a convicted fraudster offering a 50% first deposit bonus.  Do you really think poker players are that discerning?  What's this guy's nickname?'

'Jesus.'

'Great, we'll run that deposit bonus we were going to run anyway, but now we'll line it up with signing this Ferguson guy and call it the Jesus Resurrection Bonus, marketing will eat that up.  People will love it.  Anyway, people blame that chubby veggie bloke for Full Tilt.  How does a vegetarian get that big anyway?'

'I don't know.  I just don't know...'

“Jesus resurrection bonus”, what a line! Even our very own AndrewT would be proud of that one.

If I've read that correctly then Mr Morgan and myself have had some very interesting history on the Sky felt.  Well, interesting to me at least.  As for Mr Giblin, i managed to win a cash hand against him yesterday.  Ok if was only a flop C-bet that got a fold but it's still going into my top ten poker moments.

Dylan!

I was just thinking, affectionately of course, of you. Job going OK?

Incred binkage by Thewy, won 2 of his last 5 Tourneys, spent £260, won £2,600.  Minting it. Not sure the Site Pro is supposed to pillage everyone, but it does not seem to bother him.
