Sorry mate, just saw this, was saying I wouldn't put anyone off backing Miami to beat the Knicks even with -9 handicap. Game just finished, Miami won by 14, think that's a bit close to be tipping really. That's their 8th straight win, all by at least 12. I think where the bets will come is when teams rest players like they did in the game I tipped on the other thread. That'll defo happen after the All-Star weekend (this weekend) coz the games are all so crammed in on this lockout-affected schedule. Saw one team's schedule which has them playing nine times in 11 days after this weekend, no way all the stars will be able to play every game, esp when u consider the travel too.
So tonight the Knicks got beat, but by the best team, and at the top of their game. Jermey Lin was a bystander tho, bit sad really, but guess he should take it as a compliment the best team in the league obv did a lot of work on stopping him. He finsihed with just eight points, made only one of 11 shots, just three assists against eight turnovers.
Think the Knicks need this break, they need to work on how best to use Lin and blending him into their offense especially, after all, he's done little training with them. Few days off for everyone will be good

Basketball corry reporting for duty (as I just busted the PLO at the Vic, 120 runners for the £100 PLO tonight, hope they get good numbers all weekend, think it's great they've put a PLO festival on, get yersel down there teeks).
The Knicks had an easy win two days ago, all the star players got plenty of rest coz the game was all over early doors, Jermey Lin still had 21 points and nine assists (I think off the top of my head) and seems to be cutting the turnovers and bedding in well now they have their whole team fit.
Big test tonight tho, the Knicks are playing in Miami, the best team in the league. Miami basically broke the bank last year to retain their superstar (Dqayne Wade) and sign two more (well, one and a half more) in Lebron James and Chris Bosh. They spent so much on those three, the rest of the roster is squad men, and as none of those three are point guards, Lin has a chance to shine, so long as the rest of his team can keep the big three quiet. Miami are nine points favourites with the bookies and the form they're in you wouldn't bet against them winning by more than that, will update later.
Saw Lord Channing earlier, we were both in a hurry....I got into the comp 40 mins late after politely waiting my time to get a word in to leave. He tells the best stories tho, attempted murders, armed robberies, and that's in the two days since I last spoke to him
Yup, saw him yesterday, too. I doubt I've ever met anyone who can talk for so long without drawing breath, but the "under the radar" stories are incredible.
His hair was rather unruly, & comment was made. Off he went on a 30 minute tale to explain why, & it included thievery, debauchery, & all sorts. Over a simple haircut.
I did, however, eventually get my own back, by asking him "you playing the Irish Open this year?". He was not impressed, but it did not prevent another 45 minute tale.
Top top raconteur, I could listen to him all day. Sometimes, I do.
Good luck @ The Vic this weekend, but you'll have to manage without me I'm afraid, as I'm having a weekend completely away from poker, in both work & play senses. I think my next Live Poker affair will be the DTD £500 next weekend.
Keep the Lin stories coming please, I'm enjoying the new language I am learning - point guards, turnovers, assists, sex, etc.
If your sponsor wants to invest £1,000 in you, in return for some prolonged TV exposure, I am organising a 36 player TV Tourney, probably in April, & I could reserve a seat for you. Let me know, please.
Hope all is well in KimberLand.

There is a thread ion "The Lounge" started by Guy, about 18 months ago, & it died, only to be resurrected by "leethefish" a few days ago.
Lee Posted a photo which really caught my eye big time, & so I have borrowed it, I hope he does not mind. I'll give it back once I'm done.
Anyway, just look at this simply amazing room - how wonderful is that, & what an interesting chap or chapess the owner must be?
Can you imagine the beautifully soft acoustics in that room, if you whisper, the sound will simply vanish, must be like being in a hospital linen cupboard. (You can get up to all sorts in a linen cupboard without fear of being heard).
But most of all, look at how he has stacked those books - half of them, indeed the entire right hand elevation - are laid "flat", one on top of each other. I've never seen books placed in a bookcase in that manner before, & it seems so impractical (as to ease of pulling them out to peruse). Is that a really odd thing, or have I just led (lead?) a sheltered life?

When will I next see you - will you be at DTD next weekend? If so, I'll bring them along. There were 4, as I recall, yes?

My wife stacks books half and half vertically and flat (on the same shelf). Reckons it's more aesthetically pleasing. Every time she changes her mind I have to go back and re-sort them into alphabetical-by-author-surname and publication date. It's very frustrating. The thing is, if you lay them flat, you can fit more on - you just keep stacking them on to the top the shelf, so if you're short of space you just keep piling them up.
Then again, a friend of mine had his wife reorganise their bookshelves by colour recently!

Oh God. Remind me, Ralph.....
The Paul Raymond book springs to mind immediately, as does an Omaha strategy book.
If I went home & studied the bookshelves, I'm sure I could recall the rest, but a nudge would be helpful. Sorry!

Just a bit.
I think if I had a wife who so much as touched my books, divorce would be instant, on the grounds of completely unreasonable behaviour.

I can't actually remember Tony although there is a Damon Runyan book too.
I'm really not that bothered about them just couldn't help myself poking a little fun...

Talking of books, a quick question for a Forum which has quite a leaning towards betting, horseracing, & the like.
Which blonde - very well known on blonde, though maybe not so much in the real world - has authored, or co-authored, at LEAST one book, possibly two, on horse race betting?
One of them, research tells me, is the definitive book on the particular, albeit rather narrow, subject.
