The heron photo is amazing. I didn't know they perched on things like that. I've only ever seen them on the ground.

There is a little "cut" (well, a sort of cross between a small canal, & a dranage ditch) all along that side of the airport, & he was busy toing & froing along there, looking for his dinner.

Back to the Motor Museum, this, & other vehicles made by BMC, heralded the beginning of the end for the British Motor Industry, it was truly awful, by any standards.

That model was a BMC WF. Originally branded as an Austin (I think)

I've seen a few better rear ends tbh, nice car though. Looks like a batmobile.

Where many made ? What's it cost ? Details, details.

Behave Mondy.

1) No idea, but doubt it.

2) No idea, but must be worth a fortune now, I would guess.

3) It's Italian. Italian make lovely motor cars, always have. They can't play poker though, I read that on PHA, so gotta be true, right?

This, on the other hand, can probably still be seen around today.

Began life as a Works Ambulance at London Transport's Aldenham works, & some can still be seen today, converted to Ice-Cream vans.

These came on lots of different body types, including a tin back pickup, and a dormobile.

We called them 'Sausage vans' because Walls had a fleet of them.

Haha, you have a right bee in your bonnet about that don't you  Tongue

Tbh I agree with Guy's post earlier today in a PHA thread, most of the time I'd never be a fan of stereotyping and think it's a very limited way of thinking but I don't really think it's offensive to do it playing a game where using any information we can is important. I pretty much always assume someone that 4x's it with ante's is terrible, yes there'll be exceptions to the rule but most of the time I'm probably right and to stereotype like this is fine and necessary. The real mistake would be to insist all of x,y,z fit a certain stereotypical profile and not pay attention to find out whether your original categorising of someone was actually correct.

For instance us Geordies are stereotyped against that we all like a bit of a drink and where not that bright, but as I'm sure everyone who's had the pleasure to read my diary or followed my progress in a sheep quiz, especially they upcoming one, I couldn't fit further from that stereotype.

A little investigation reveals this, Mondy.

It is a 1935 Alfa Romeo 6c 2300, with special "Aerodinamica" styling.

See.....

http://www.conceptcarz.com/events/eventVehicle.aspx?carID=18718&eventID=695&catID=2413

And halfway down the page here, on Wiki, under "Aerodinamica Spider".....

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alfa_Romeo_6C

I am incredulous that such a body could have been designed in the 30's.

I just find it, equally, both amusing & sad, Ray. I certainly don't think it's offensive though. "Not very bright", yes, but not offensive.

There is not a scintilla of evidence suggesting that French, Italian, Spanish, or whatever, poker players are generally bad - or more correctly, any worse or better than Brits. To think otherwise would be delusional.

We are all guilty in some ways of stereotyping, me included, I'm quite sure, but you have to know where to draw the line.

Did you see the wholly bizarre "no petrol" Thread on blonde last week, where a bunch of players were all getting excited due to supposed over-reaction by those who queued for petrol?

If so, you would now know that everyone that queued for petrol was...

A Moron

An idiot

Over 50

And the poor souls were absolutely steaming about it!

In poker, if we see a Frenchie at our Table, he stickss out like a sore thumb, because he is French, & if he makes a bad play, we notice because he is a Frenchie.

Now try the obverse.

Try remembering your wonderful exploits down at DTD, & all the terribad plays you observed.....by Brits.

Play a poker tourney, or read a Live Update. How many times will you see "the complete idiot called me with x-x, he could not pass, he's a complete donkey". Decode it. It simply means "I lost the hand & I am a bad loser".

A well known poker player dissed the Sky Poker Tour Grand Final (or the players in it) all over Facebook the year before last. "They are all idiots & donks, none of them can pass a hand". I took him to task, & as seems so often to be the case, after publically dissing, he apologised - privately, via Message. (!!)

He played the Tourney & was out in Level One. "Tough break" I say to him afterwards. "Nah, those idiots casn't pass a hand" says he. He was quite serious too, the irony of his rank stupidity was completely lost on the poor chap.

Then we have "soft sites". Just lol @ that. I've seen scores of players say "DTD/Sky Poker/PKR/OnGame is ultra soft, but I don't play there because the software is bad". I mean, really! Did you ever see such a daft statement? They can nick £500 a day because it is so soft, but they prefer to play on 'Stars because it has better software?.....

Now, I overlaid this morning - which makes me 4.7 on the Grumpy Scale, & now you've managed to wind me up a treat, & I'm up to 7.9 already.

You Geordies are all the same.

Actually there is plenty of evidence about the skill tendencies of different nationalitiest.

Mediterranean countries do have worse players that those countries in the north, though Brits are closer to the Italians, and further away from the Swedes, than we'd like to think.

Well the woman in front of me was......she parked her car too far away from the petrol pump and the hole was on the wrong side. She tried valiantly to pull the nozzle towards the tank but failed but while doing so she held onto the nozzle for dear life, squeezing it in her attemps and therefore spraying herself and the forecourt in petrol. She was in tears, the staff had to come out and remove the nozzle from her hands as she cried, the police arrived and she had to pay £5 in petrol.

I'm not sure what to call her?Huh?
