Those eggs actually look really nice and I quite admire your resolution in just putting individual things you like on a plate together irrespective of their teamwork - bit like you dress really.Interesting effort with the salad dressing - may I suggest a simple oil & balsamic with some decent salt & pepper in future. Agree that lettuce serves no useful purpose but some good tomatoes and a few nice leaves aint too shabby. When you want to body build again, throw any number of different quality cheeses on there and that's a tasty little salad.

I take that as the compliment it is intended to be, ty ty.

I've been forced to give up on cheese completely during the diet process, but once I'm done, it will be cheese morning noon & night, I love it to death. Kraft spread ftw, bit strong, but I cope.

"balsamic"? What that? It sounds foreign. I don't do foreign.

Chuck some red onion in with the lettuce - jobs a good'un

Onion, lettuce, spinach?

Sorry Dan, but what are you, some sort of radical?

No, no, no. In that order.

Visited Brooklands Motor & Aeroplane Museum on Saturday, as well as London Bus Museum, ooooohh, & I have 100's of photos to upload. Look away now.

I fell in love, too - I just stood & stared at this motorcar for an age, barely able to believe the sheer beauty of it.

It is an Alfa Romeo. Date of manufacture? 75 years ago, 1937.

Incredible, it is the Martin Peters of car design.  Just admire that rear end, you could marry that.

Only the cabin betrays her age.

Oh so beautiful, I think you'll agree.

Yup. Sadly, I took photos of everything, so be warned, don't ask too many questions, or I'll upload them. SOME of them you, & maybe you alone, will adore. (50's lorries, 60's vans etc).

I've seen a few better rear ends tbh, nice car though. Looks like a batmobile.

Where many made ? What's it cost ? Details, details.

Not quite so good on the photography front, but as birdlife thrills go, this was a magic moment.

Was at Heathrow on Sunday - as you do - taking some 'plane photos, & spotted this. (First photo for context only).

It was perched between the Western Perimeter Road, & the Western Taxiway, with the Southern (?) runway @ Heathrow barely 50 yards further away.

Moments later, another arrived, though much smaller.

Here she is, in all of her beauty. Or most of her, anyway.

We never needed to take our cars to the garage back in the day - open the bonnet, & this is what we saw.  See it, fix it, drive it, simple.

The heron photo is amazing. I didn't know they perched on things like that. I've only ever seen them on the ground.

Notice the advance and retard levers on the steering column of the Bentley? I've used those.

You retard the spark (Ignition timing) when she's cold and then advance it as she warms up.

It's all done by computer these days.

I had that on several of my early motorbikes, too, mainly the big 500cc long stroke single cylinder affairs.

There is a little "cut" (well, a sort of cross between a small canal, & a dranage ditch) all along that side of the airport, & he was busy toing & froing along there, looking for his dinner.

Back to the Motor Museum, this, & other vehicles made by BMC, heralded the beginning of the end for the British Motor Industry, it was truly awful, by any standards.

This, on the other hand, can probably still be seen around today.

Began life as a Works Ambulance at London Transport's Aldenham works, & some can still be seen today, converted to Ice-Cream vans.
