hi Tom
I've just been looking at the latest version of the line up for Glastonbury and the New Gypsy, Roma and Travellers Alliance have a spot in the Speakers Forum.
Are they a good representative body?
Hello David.
The question is addressed to Tom, but can I just say how proud I am that you selected blonde's premier Diary (guaranteed art and bollox free) in which to pose the question.
You are a wise man with excellent taste, if I may make so bold.
Thank you.

Are they a good representative body?
I'm not sure who they are David.
We have to be very careful about their title, the wording is very important.
Are they the 'New Gypsy' Roma and Travellers Alliance? If so, I have no idea what a 'New Gypsy' is.
Are they Gypsies, Roma and Travellers who have formed a new alliance, and if so, do they have representatives from all those ethnic groups on board?
Are the 'Travellers' ethnic Irish Travellers or 'New' Travellers, i. e. members of the general public who have
decided
to adopt a travelling lifestyle?
Note: It's very difficult for any one individual to speak on behalf of several diverse groups.

if i can i will find out more about them when I'm there. Google was uninformative when given the precise wording as per the Glastonbury website.

Nicarauga is to build an alternative to the Panama Canal.
What a Civil Engineering contract that will be!
The mind truly boggles. Capacity, by all criteria, will be far in excess of that offered by the Panama Canal.
Panama earns huge revenues from the Canal, where the average fee per vessel is around $54,000, with fees as high as $300,000 in certain cases. When delays occur in the Canal (maintenance etc) vessels in the queue bid in an auction, with the highest price getting priority access.

Isn't there already an alternative to the Panama Canal? Flying?

You can travel through as a private punter for a Yacht less than 100ft its $2000ish over is around $3200.
Little craft are around $750. I do not know many folk with a cargo vessel.

One of THE greatest & most tragic stories ever, but what a legacy they left.
Well worth a read of the Wikipedia page.
