Found bad aces in a bad position.

In short, mangled them. There were three options, and I chose the worst, and paid him off on two streets, before seeing sense on the straighting flushing lowing rivering thing.

I have every confidence in your shizzling.

Looking forward to a good squeeze-read with my morning coffee.

Need an earlyish night as playing golf in the morning. It's pro's day and I've done the hard part by snaffling a very good partner.

Best of luck!

Raised it up with A-2-4-K

Flop 4-4-3.

Bet, call.

Turn Q.

Bet, call.

River, J.

Check the river,  then stupidly pay off his value bet. He had 4-3.

9,000 now, from 15,000 starting. Ugh.

Ha, always got an angle.

Night Ralph. The early morning squeeze may not take too long at this rate.

Won a nice pot with nut high, no low possible.

Up to 11,500 now.

Should read "down to 11,500 now" but we are playing mind games.

73 runners now. It is playing incredibly fast, 5 players gone busto already.

13,700 now, phew, that scared me, but not so bad now.

Think I had better abandon my new aggro style. Does not suit me at all, and I don't have the moves.

2 levels complete, first break, we return at 100-200.

Have got 14,750, which is just fine, and I have found my nitty feet now.

Just had my own Rail, Alex and Doobs.

Alex has gone to Bellagio to play cash, and Doobs is going to pack, presumably, as he goes home tomorrow. Boo.

Doobs gave me $240 to pass on to Pleno, for a staking obligation.

I owed Doobs $600 approx, after netting off a whole raft of bits and pieces we owed each other, so he and I are square now.

If MereAuditor sees this, Doobs had 10% of my WSOP $3k action, and I have paid him in cash. Sorted.

Can see me getting in a right mess with what I owe, am owed, or where I am being used as a conduit to pay folks.

So, if I owe you money, speak up please.....

90 runners now, of which 10 no longer have a continuing interest in matters going forward.

Anti-Boom.

Ouch.

Got quartered for 75% of my stack.

I have   and we see this floppy.....

 two hearts

We are 4 way, 2k in the middle. I pot. One caller.

Turn, off suit 4.

Hate this card, but feel I have to bet again. He, playing about 75% of my stack, moves in........

Found this quite an awkward spot to evaluate. He probably has the same nut low, and possible the wheel, too, but depending on which, I still have a whole range of possible results - nut nut, nut high only, nut low only.

I call, he has the wheel, and I fail to improve on the river. Three quarters slides across to him.

With hindsight, maybe I should have kept better pot control by not betting the flop. He had A-3-3-5 so I guess he would have potted the flop anyway, and I can never fold if he does. Suppose I could check raise him on the flop, but he would have moved in there and then I presume.

Once we get to the turn, where he hit his wheel, I am in deep trouble unless I hit my heart or a 5.

Not really sure how we could have got out of this coup cheaper.

7,600, and officially sulking.

Might put this on PHA, to see if there were lessons I can learn from this. Think it is a semi cooler, except, perhaps, "fold pre".

Whoops.

Had....

  two hearts

I raise, one caller.

Flop came.....

I bet, he calls.

Turn.....

I bet again, he raises me......

In short, the ten pairs on the river, and I now have.....

2,875, with blinds at 150-300.

Unfortunately, that means that spin time has arrived, rather earlier than one would have preferred.

I know what to do. Raiser in front, and a combo hand. Jeeves told me.

The spinfest is well underway.

Split two pots so far, and got a full round of table skimmers the other.

Dwelt long and hard before folding A-3-5-5, prefer a bit more up the top end, A-K/Q/J, with A-2/3 at the bottom ideally.

BUSTO.

Ran A-K-K-2, hh, which I rather liked, into A-A-10-2, which I did not like quite so much.

68th of 92, and $1,100 down the Swanee in around 4 hours.

Oucho.

If we get it in bad it's a cooler, get it in good it's a beat.  Wink

I'm not really sure - except for the exit hand, where I got it in VERY bad, but had no choice given my meagre stack - what I did wrong yesterday. Whether they were coolers or beats matters not to me, I'm not into worrying about that as such.

I just want to play the game better, & I was perplexed by my efforts yesterday.

I think it was just a bit of well overdue run-bad, but I certainly got myself into some awkward spots.

The 4-3 hand, (Posted above) now I reflect on it, was a pretty bad read by me. He CAN have the flopped house there. I had the A with my 4, & hoped it was good, but it was a bad play by me I suspect.

I had got chatting later with 4-3 man, turns out he was an O8 SCOOP winner, so almost certainly knew what was what, & he kippered me a treat.

I watched him closely, throughout, & he had over 60,000, from 15,000 starting, after Level 4. He just quietly accumulated chips. When he got looked up, he ALWAYS had it.

And it just got me thinking. These players always seem to get chips, it is not luck, not at all. Me, I just grind, hang around, & if I get lucky, I run deep. I run deep a lot, & cash a lot, so I'm clearly not THAT bad at the game, but I really want to be bettter, not just rely on patience (my strong suit), & luck, & I have a long long way to go.

The hand where I got quartered, too, seemed a little unfortunate. I was chasing nut nut on the flop. I rarely get involved for stacks unless I can scoop both ends, & that was exactly the case there.

I'm really not sure what to think this morning. I know I blew $1,100, a third of which belonged to other folks, my investors, & it's natural to feel bad in these spots.

I genuinely think I ran pretty bad yesterday, but I also realised I need to get better at the game, & maybe not put myself in such bad spots. I don't know how I could have got off that nut-nut draw hand though.

I'm going to start a "Help me play O8 better" thread in PHA when time permits, & hopefully, the likes of Honeybadger, LilDave, rfqqhtrkjgf, & others, will help. I'm pretty sure they will.

All good I suppose, but yesterday was a bit of a knock to my self-belief & confidence. $1,100, & it was all over inside 4 levels.
