I enjoyed the £100 at DTD on Sunday, but kinda messed up.

I played very aggressive early, but it all went tom-tiddly. I had A-9, & for some odd reason, Raised it up in mid-position, & the BB called. (Lucky Lloyd says A-9 is not a rag ace, see?).

Flop Q-6-5, check, I bet, he calls.

Turn, J, he checks, I bet, he calls.

River, another J, a GREAT bluffing card, he checks, I bet he insta-calls.

So it's Q-6-5-J-J. He shows A-6........

Why do I even bother bluffing?

Then I got silly lucky.

Limping with  , three of us saw the  Two Clubs flop. Nice, next job, how to get paid? Well one of 'em had    , the other

Treble up. Easy game this poker.

My seat was "awkward", I had Dave "The Hat" Smith two to my left, & his game has improved beyond all recognition, but it's still a bugger of a job to get Raise through him.

I found  UTG, & decided to play it backwards, & just Limped. Dave Smith did not disappoint, & Raised it up. It's just grand when a plan comes together. I shoved, he can only call with 2 hands really. Shame he had one on them. GG, WP, NH.

Earlier, I had Chubbs to my right, & he sends the fear of God through me.

Holding K-J, we saw a flop of J-J-9, & I got all cute with it. Turn came the Q, River Ace, &, to cut a long story short, Chubbs got me off my trip Jacks. With 4-4.

Not my finest hour at the poker table......

Not my finest hour at the poker table......

especially as you had the straight.....

p.s lest anyone think I actually play  from most places..it was  vs  blind on blind when the board turned both of us the straight flush...

hopefully that moment was the bottom. If not, well lets not go there!

At Luton tonight, there was the prettiest, cutest, easy-on-the-eyeist girl you ever saw, sort of Cardroom Assistant.

We got chatting. She was only 18 or 19, so I tried to avert my gaze.

I lost my first buy-in, & went to summon her, "chips", but she was right behind me, chips at the ready.

"I knew you would need chips, I can read your mind" says she.

"I bet you cannot" I say, smirkily pervily.

"I don't think we wanna go there" says Body Beautiful. (That's her, not me).

Result of Mind-Reading Test - FAIL.

There was much sadness in chez Dana & Jen last week, when Persopolis (sp?) passed away.

Persopolis was the Cat, & was a bit of a character, to put it mildly, & the whole household revolved around Pers. Both Dana & Jen were very upset.

But Jen has a way with words, maybe it's just me that's attracted to her quirky & inventive use of language, but even in the sorrow, as we dicussed it, I could barely suppress a smile when this exchange between Jen & myself went down.

Me (awkwardly, as you do), "err, what did it, umm, die of, like, you know, anything in particular, was it, err, umm, ill, or what?".

Jen - "No, it died of old".

Not had the best of days, but my Dad taught me to always go to bed happy, & try & dream of something lovely. I shall take this beauty to bed with me tonight.

Pics like the one above - the Lighthouse - fill me with awe, & I could stare at them for hours. Water is so powerful. Just ask the Captain of this Ship.....
