I still can't figure her exit hand at the GUKPT. Ketul makes it 60k (600k behind, blinds still small), she shoves all-in for 300k with A-T suited, & he insta-calls with 8-6. Can anyone help me understand that 8-6 play? I just can't figure it out at all.

Then Ketul arrived at the table directly on my left......he sat down with around 300k and I managed to "take" 200k from him in the space of an hour without even showing a hand.

I'm sure this is the answer to Tikay's question. There is no logical explanation as to why he would make that call other than it was just an emotional one. popeye coined the phrase "I've had all I can stand, I can't stands no more!" before he popped open a can of spinach and went mental.

So Ketul is on popeye-tilt.

We could look at this in a bad way, but it's plays like this that make poker the game it is. Poker is played by people, and sometimes people just do crazy and unpredictable things for no apparent reason. I mean Ketul was snap-calling so fast with his 8-6 he completely forgot Tony Phillips was still to act. Madness. But people can sometimes let their emotions get the better of them...and that's what makes the game fun....and exploitable. Bot poker would be much less fun than people poker because it wouldn't be an emotional game. Calling with the 8-6 was a bad idea...and so is eating spinach...but both seemed t have the right result.

The £100 Omaha thing at DTD last night only had 10 runners, which was a bit grim after last week's 21, but given time, it'll make 30 or 40 every week, & it'll be a fun evening, as it's very nicely structured.

Dingdell played it, fresh from her lessons with Mother Hen, only her 2nd or 3rd Omahe affair, sharing a table throughout with the likes of Omaha veteran Uncle Kim Costa.

She cashed, in 3rd, for £210. It may not sound much, but she was beaming from ear to ear, & I'm delighted for her. "Its so much better than Hold 'Em, so much more to it, it's a thinking game" said she of the dreaded anal hosepipe.

Well played her.

I Finalled, too, not bad in a field of that size. For me.

I figure that if he spent some time on the Blonde PHA Board he would learn how to seperate his emotions from these pressure situations, relax a bit, and make clear, well thought-out decisions. Maybe Tikay should encourage him to log on.
