Lost a standard coup, but with 3 nitty shorties to my immediate left, and Leif absent watching the Cavs, soon nicked them back via some gentle bullying.

70,000, coming back to 1,200-2,400.

Around 60 players remain.

It's 6 max, so can't hang around, and will need to keep busy after the break. Won't be trying to creep into the money today, am feeling good, completely comfy, but this is a good spot to try for a result. Shit or bust then.

Lost 30,000 chips in 2 hands just after the break.

2 shorties, both with 12,500, move in, and I call with bad aces, A-A-5-6-8cc.

They both have snap fit spanners & they chop it between them.

An orbit later I button raise thin, get called, and bet the all diamond all high flop without a diamond in my hand. My man moves in and I have to fold.

48,000 @ 1,200-2,400.

Bit of a setback, but 20 bigs is very playable.

Suddenly, after being comfy all day, I am up against it, with 30,000 @ 1,500-3,000, and just 5 players on my table.

Need to gamble now.

Got it all in with good aces, got called by spanners, flopped my ace, scooping on the turn, he rivers a chop.

56,000, but we are 5 handed at 2,000-4,000 and the button is whizzing round.

A raise in front of me, I have lovely aces, and we get it in pre flop for a 120,000 pot.

I flop well, 4 to the low, plus my overpair, he hits runner runner broadway for the high straight and the low never comes.

He tables the low tastic but no ace 2-3-4-5-6.

He flops perfect......

   

I pick up a spade draw on the turn, but another Ace rivers and that's that, it's all over.

Ran really well early, ran really bad late, but would not do a thing different, think I played ok.

Bit disappointed, truth to tell, but them's the breaks.

That's it for poker now until Sunday, tomorrow @ 0515 we set off for California via Southwest Airlines and the Amtrak Pacific Surfliner, and we return late Friday night.
