On my Big (1,200) we call a raise to 2,500 with A-2-7-K but have to give up on a bad flop.

With a sub 10 Big stack, I 3 bet there, but I think it's a bit early for that. We had no suits, either.

Maybe that was a 3 bet spot?

Good work.

P.S. Is this a joint diary? Smiley

Went to vegas.  Got sick.  Stayed in bed for 3 days.  Not sure it would sustain a thread. Sure there are better diaries out there.

I like the flat. Gives you room to maneuver post flop. If he pot opens then it is closer. There is a case for 3 betting especially if it was a LP raiser but I like the flat personally in this set up, you still have a reasonable amount of BB's.

Raise with.....

  three diamonds

Big blind flats.

Flop

He now pots it.

We have to fold here, rather frustratingly, as we are playing for half unless we get very lucky and spike a deuce.

Next, we find red double suited aces (A-A-2-7) and make it 4,000.

Mr Tight flats.

It comes 10-10-9 all black and he snap pots it.

We have to fold.

He is a pal of mine, and shows 2 black aces.......and the 10.

Not going well, then. 17,000, blinds going 800-1,600 in 5 minutes.

Spin time arrived far sooner than we had hoped. Likely to be in the next 2 orbits, no choice.

We pot it with A-4-7-8 (one suit) but get no action.

Not dead yet.

Blinds now 800-1,600, we have around 19,000.

135 left.

Horrible spot, unlucky.

Don't love his play regardless of his hand if he pot lead the flop. I mean does he have 23 and is just potting and potentially blowing his customer out the hand? If he doesn't have 23 then you would think he would tread with at least some care as your opening range could have connected with that in a big way.

Walked to me in the SB, BB has 6,500 (4 bigs) so I pot it with spanners.

After an age he folds.

Just realised i have fresh oO D at my table.  He is very good (plinop good at hold em) and has an enormous stack too.  I have played him quite a bit at o8 and it isnt easy.  Dare say it isn't going to be a breeze getting to the money.  Got about 40.

This is why I don't play Omaha.

I read the first half of your post and thought "well obviously it all goes in here, hope he hits the diamond."

But you folded!
