Back up to 11.  Short stack easy to play.  Tony Bloom is definitely playing.  Roland was chatting to him for a long time.   He'd have loved my table the other day.  Some fella was saying it was impossible to make money betting on sports.

Edit.  20 eaay game

Edit

28k.  Aa62ss.  Just called a raise.  Shortie shoved the bb.  Utg reshoved.  I reshoved.  Ended up with 3/4 of main.  1/4 side.

Lovely job. Teach me.

Do you guys see a big shift in skill levels compared to the $1500 events? The field looks a lot stronger!

We start level 5 (150-300) with just 13,000 after a bit of a setback. It's still 43 Bigs, so not terrible, but it took the wind out of my sails a bit.

Next 2 levels crucial, really want to try and chip up. And if we perish along the way, so be it.

I chatted with Tony Bloom at the break (he is on 22,000), fascinating character.

Think there are a lot of people will go for the bracelet in the smaller field.  Those people tend to play more aggro?  Not sure there is much difference in skill levels.

38000.  Taken out Sorel Mizzi.  We have had Justin Mercier's emotional support dog at the table.  Dont know if that is good or bad for run good.

Oh wow, go doobs.

Fantastic recovery from 5,000 just before the last break.

Meanwhile, things are much more pedestrian here, but I have recovered a few chips and we are back to starting.

Blinds now go 200-400.

I make it 1,100 with.....

  two hearts

Two callers.

Flop is.....

Checked all round.

The turn is an off suit 9.

This looks a good card to rep, they can't call unless they have the 9, and they all fold like good children, and we are at last back in positive territory with 17,500.

Absolutely loving this tournament, and loving being much more active than usual. I shall be gutted if we exit early, especially as this is the last comp on the schedule.

No dinner break in this as far as I know, but we have another break in 35 minutes, and then it gets serious.

......and back down to 11,000 after we 3 bet pre with dubious aces ( all black, A-A-5-6) and had to yield on a bad flop.

Level 7 about to kick off, 250-500.

Can't make anything happen here, no matter how hard I try.

Just gotta be patient I guess.

Only got 11,000, but that's ok for now. Will deffo try and take a spin if we get down to 15 Bigs.

Level 7 was torrid, a real test of patience, could not find anything to go to war with, and I completely missed the few flops I saw.

Level 8 now, 300-600, and we have done well to still be here with 10,000, which is 16 Bigs.

If we can just find any reasonably balanced hand, we can go for it.

Very first hand of level 8......

BOOM BOOM SCOOPIO BANANA

Full 2xUp to take us to the giddy heights of 21,200, which is a most handsome 30 Bigs.

Oh yessssssss.

My word, that felt good.
