dont have a piece, best of luck

really enjoy your write ups every year

That's most kind of you Mr bagel, thank you.

May I ask how you came to choose the alias of "bagel"?

I went on wiki to see if it meant what I thought it did ("bread roll"....) & it informed me that a bagel is "a bread product which originated in the Jewish communities of Poland".

Well I never knew that.

believe it or not, bagel is my middle name.

Well I do hope you don't think I'm being cheeky, or getting OOL, but that's a very strange middle name.

Is there any particular family history which is the reason your parents chose "Bagel"?

In most cases middle names seem to transpose from generation to generation - I am Anthony James, my Dad was James Anthony, that sort of thing.

I used to employ 3 generations of the same family as shuttering joiners, Grandad, Dad & Son. Grandad's name was David Wells, Dad's name was David Wells, & Son's name was.......David Wells.

I can see all sorts of negatives & positives there.

cant believe i got that one through, you really must be tired.

my middle name is alan btw.

in my thirties i was first of my pals to get a bald patch, i have short hair, someone said my head looks like a bagel so it stuck. sorry to disappoint you.

good luck today,  if you win the iced buns are on you.

Play for day one has concluded.

We will bring back 58,500 @ 1,500-3,000.

45 players remain, 24 of whom will get paid.

So after a day of pissing about, you are now playing a DYM where half the field get paid? You will be in your element.....Good Luckness for day 2.

Well that's one way of looking at it.

With hindsight, it was pretty stupid of me to re-enter, but hey, I'm in Vegas, living the dream, & I could not resist. I suppose I could say we saved $465 today, too, as we can't now play the Aria PLO.

Thing is, if we now min-cash - we should be so lucky - we end up losing $12 on the gig, as we have spent $1,200 & a min Cash is $1,188. The real money is in the Final, where 9th place pays close to $3,000, with $31,000 to the winner.

So I guess we had better aim high, eh?

How is your lad these days? Getting to the awkward age yet? Into girls?

Thanks for asking. The 'lad' is now nearly a young man. Doing his exams now and hopefully going onto 6th form and UNI. So, no time for girls....yet Wink.

PS....I flopped the nut flush against Boobs Doobs on Sunday night and even had the royal flush redraw. His PP then hit and that is all she wrote. Can you stop giving all your mates from here boooom buttons please  Cool

Now....go on and win this thing today...and just make sure you do EXACTLY THAT....or you will be hearing of some solicitors. GL GL GL

We started almost on time.

Plan was to sit quiet for a bit and see how the land lies.

But on the very first hand, it all kicked off.....

There are two limpers at 1,500-3,000, and I have:

  two spades

I make it 16,500.

I get TWO callers.

Off we go......

We see this flop:

Looks good enough to me, heave ho, in they go.

Fella behind me re-shoves (good) and the third geezer tank folds.

My man has A-2-2-3.

After a twitchy turn and river, we gratefully chop.

All go here.

Very next hand, 4 limpers before it gets to me, and I have;

  two hearts

POT. (16,500 I think)

They all fold like good lads.

84,000.

When you said you'd been bageled, I thought for a minute that was in reference to how much money you'd won after being knocked out of the tourney. Glad to see you're making progress.

Very surprised to see so much limping at this stage.

Think they prefer to see a "safe flop" before committing.

Not sure about that players reshove with the a223 in that spot. Depends on stacks I guess but looks like the high is gone for him bar the 5 or maybe 2, if he misses he loses, hits he chops, but he could be quartering the player he shoved out the pot and possibly killed any chance of extra profit for himself and you.

Great to pad some chips to the stack early though, nice 1!

Well I was pleased to get heads up until I saw his hand and the other geezers hand. Then I wished he had flatted me.

Seems to me he has not grasped the idea of the game, he was effectively hoping for half.
