Am scheduled to play the $465 PLO @ Aria at 11am this morning, that is now cancelled, obviously.

Play here resumes at 4pm Vegas, which is midnight UK.

Surely you have enough time to play and bust at the aria before you start day 2?

Forgot to say, best of luck for day 2!

Oh yes, very good Mr Bates, very good indeed.

I do know one guy - well no, TWO guys actually - who really could do that; Albert Sapiano & Ch10mpy. Both very similar in style & ability.

Excellent day's work Tony and very well done on making the first day two of this year's adventure.

A most welcome return to your tales of derring-do liberally sprinkled with arsehole-rippage and the odd scoopio.

I guess you're off to Spearmint's now for a little well-deserved R&R.

Thanks Ralph.

My luck seemed to change when you logged on. Have breakfast earlier tomorrow, please.

Spearmint? Walgreens for a sandwich, more like.

I was extremely tired when play finished, & still am. I've not quite got my usual energy levels back yet, & I still lack zoom, zest & zing, but I'll get some sleep before play restarts, & we'll see what's what.

Thank you for the updates Tikay, I really enjoyed that. I think I enjoy reading them as much as you enjoy playing.

Well played and good luck.

xx

Thank you Lisa.

My style is not exactly crash-bang-wallop, so you must be easily pleased, but yes, I cannot begin to tell you how much I adore playing poker in Vegas.

How are Pete & the girls? And the sundry husbands?

dont have a piece, best of luck

really enjoy your write ups every year

That's most kind of you Mr bagel, thank you.

May I ask how you came to choose the alias of "bagel"?

I went on wiki to see if it meant what I thought it did ("bread roll"....) & it informed me that a bagel is "a bread product which originated in the Jewish communities of Poland".

Well I never knew that.

believe it or not, bagel is my middle name.

Well I do hope you don't think I'm being cheeky, or getting OOL, but that's a very strange middle name.

Is there any particular family history which is the reason your parents chose "Bagel"?

In most cases middle names seem to transpose from generation to generation - I am Anthony James, my Dad was James Anthony, that sort of thing.

I used to employ 3 generations of the same family as shuttering joiners, Grandad, Dad & Son. Grandad's name was David Wells, Dad's name was David Wells, & Son's name was.......David Wells.

I can see all sorts of negatives & positives there.

Play for day one has concluded.

We will bring back 58,500 @ 1,500-3,000.

45 players remain, 24 of whom will get paid.

So after a day of pissing about, you are now playing a DYM where half the field get paid? You will be in your element.....Good Luckness for day 2.

Well that's one way of looking at it.

With hindsight, it was pretty stupid of me to re-enter, but hey, I'm in Vegas, living the dream, & I could not resist. I suppose I could say we saved $465 today, too, as we can't now play the Aria PLO.

Thing is, if we now min-cash - we should be so lucky - we end up losing $12 on the gig, as we have spent $1,200 & a min Cash is $1,188. The real money is in the Final, where 9th place pays close to $3,000, with $31,000 to the winner.

So I guess we had better aim high, eh?

How is your lad these days? Getting to the awkward age yet? Into girls?

On which note, I've just found the overnight chip counts & payouts.

I'm well impressed with these - I'm not even last.

Just had a look at my table & seat draw. (Table 36, seat 1).

Most of the big stacks are on my table, & I've got them stacked up both sides of me.

Well if nothing else, it means there are plenty of chips to be had, I suppose.

Seeing Pompeynick post, & because he is a mate from Next Door with whom I have shared hundreds (thousands?) of Tables, I'm suddenly reminded that Doobs finished 5th in the Sunday Major last night for about a grand.

That's a bit more in the Vegas fighting fund, well done David.
