FFS!

I didn't know the Mad Yank was a mu-diddly-urderer.

Based on the 10 years mentioned he should be due out of jail now too.

Yes, he should be back at home now, though where "home" is I've no idea.

I was really surprised to see Tom say he was not aware of Mad Yank's misdeeds, I assumed everyone knew.

Whilst we are on the subject of poker playing murderers, here's another who is due to be released this year. Tom WILL remember this one though, as he was a DTD regular. The difference between him & Mad Yank was Mad Yank did his murdering AFTER we knew him, whereas this fellow did it before we got to know him. It had not come out on top at the time of course. His victim's head was found in the Nevada desert, but her body was never found as I recall. The US Police said they "suspected foul play". Well yes.

The photo was taken after one of the Wm Hill Grand Prix qualifiers  - there were 4 of them, & Phil Q recruited me to help out with them. Some fun stories there, especially after one when half of the prize pool mysteriously vanished.

Crikey!

When I found out that Marcus Bebb Jones was a murderer I couldn't believe it, he seemed so ordinary. I spent endless hours at the poker table with him just chatting about mundane stuff, as you do.

Now I can't believe that he's served his time and is due for release, It's shocking how time passes.

I wonder how I would feel if, at some point in the future, I was drawn next to him in a comp?

I think it was Camel who once suggested he had sat at a poker table with 4 murderers; I remember these two, but could never work out who the others were.

There are probably more than a couple of players where the news wouldn't surprise me.

There was Maz from Sheffield a frequent player at DTD who grew tired of his missus and stabbed her multiple times.

Would that be the same one who took a gun into a wedding and just started randomly shooting at people?

That's the guy.

I know this is a really cliche thing to say, but he was such a nice guy, I was shocked when I found out.

Having said that I have probably shared tables with 3 murderers, at least one gangster, several pimps and god knows how many drug dealers. I was pretty much shocked when I found out about every one of them.

I used to chat with him regularly during the WSOP at Bellagio when I was grinding cash there in 2008.

Went for dinner with him once or twice, and it was him that introduced me to a good Indian place at the Hawaiian Marketplace between PHo & MGM http://tambaindiancuisine.com/

Think it was Trigg that laughed at me when I said as much as you, Barry.

I am informed by a friend that yesterday's date was both a palindrome & an ambigram.

12022021

I had never heard of an ambigram so consulted google & you tube, & there's hundreds of pages of ambigrammy stuff.

Some of the examples on wiki are superb;

Can't find pics on my computer - will take a couple, got an ambigram on each arm.

There are online generators you can test out Ambigrams....

I think it's where, for people they put their job or relevance to the article, they've informed us that Bounce is, in fact, a dog. Cheesy

Whoosh Huh?

Not sure how to reply without being a smartarse, but Rod's reply summed it up.

I just found it so amusing, & I thought about it all morning. Not just the graphic, where someone at the BBC felt we needed to be informed it was a dog, but the layers of bureaucracy behind it. I'm sure an edict exists that says ALL guests on Shows & the News must state their name & profession.

Janet Smith, Typist.

Brian Johnson, Bin Collector.

In this case, would it REALLY have been a big deal to leave that bit blank? Does the BBC really think we might not have noticed it was a dog? Course not, but rules are rules. Maybe he fills in a form on some special software to upload graphics & you can't leave any boxes blank.

When we were doing the Sky Poker TV Shows we had - I swear to God this is true - a dyslexic graphics operator. Oh my.

I found the photo on Twitter. Twitter is seriously toxic & full of glue-sniffers, but if you look carefully you can unearth some diamonds. Yesterday I found Bounce - who's a dog apparently - and on the Sky Poker Twitter feed some feedback from a player;

@skypoker
seems to be the most inbred worm hole!

Pretty good that, huh?

I can't match Twitter handles with Sky Poker aliases, but I bet he plays on the site 7 nights a week.

inbred worm hole

Love it.

What an utterly fabulous story. If you find any more like that, post them please David.

I'm long past the aggro hating phase of life, and just want to see stuff like that every day.

As a footballer he never struck me as one with a social conscience, but to be fair we do tend to put all footballers in the same box.

God bless him.
