Something urgent cropped up yesterday, so I had to drive down to London sharpish.
I had not spoken to Tom for a few days, so I rang him to have a natter. We chatted for about half-an-hour - he's like an old woman - when suddenly an unmarked Police Car pulled in front of me (I was on the M40 at the time) & beckoned me to stop.
On the Moby whilst driving, I was bang to rights, can't argue.
The copper was a decent guy, deferential polite, & articulate, but we was not gonna wear any bullshit & I never tried any flannel.
3 points, & a £60 Fine, OR, attend a Training Course on why it's bad (& illegal) to talk on the Moby whilst driving. The Training Course costs £75, & is in Oxfordshire. Marvellous, but it's the best way out for me.
I have to take both parts of my Driving Licence (plastic & paper) to a Police Station within 7 days, but I don't know where my "paper part" is. Mr Policeman said I'd have to go to a DVLA Centre & get a copy. Within 7 days. This I don't need.
This is all caused by that damn new 'phone. It has a Hands-Free thingie, but it does not work very well.

ring DVLA say you've lost both parts they send out new one next day, or they did a couple years ago for me anyway
do you think perhaps you're getting a bit old for all this driving?

I played Online last night for 5 hours, for Sky, as a "Play The Presenter" Trial. Astonished how many Railers were online, countless numbers. The community spirit is quite superb. We did a debrief today, & everyone seemed happy
I've signed up to do a night a week, once the "trials" have finished, as have 4 other Presenters.
The Agreement is to play for 5 hours straight, 1 night per week, but I was surprised how tough it was to play for 5 hours straight. Out of practice, I suppose. (I rarely play Online nowadays).
It's tough to play, too, as everyone sort of "targets" you, as if there is a Bounty on you. I sat quietly for an hour, then re-popped it pre with Jacks, MB1 called, (he had AK) I bet the 9 high Flop, he Called again, & bet the 9 high Turn, all-in, he Called all-in. He rivered his K, & I'd done a whole pull-up.
I played a "Slow-Boat" Tourney later, & Chompy was on my Table. I had good chips, he had gooder, & he started bullying, so I did the same, & just got in first everytime. 15 left, 10 Paid, I got in first with threes, & Nice Lady Called me with Aces. End of.
To be fair, I'd become most unwell during the evening, something very weird went off, & I was in a dreadful state, & I just wanted to get rid of my chips & get to bed. I was scheduled to play until Midnight, but I packed up at about 11.,30 & went to bed. (I was at Jurys Hotel. Heathrow). Bed never felt better, & despite a 10am Meeting scheduled for this morning, I stayed in bed for 12 hours straight. Felt a little better this morning, though still only 2 on a scale of 1 to 10.
Doing the Primo Show this evening, with Compo, Orford, & Jason Barrasford.
As soon as that's done, I'm gonna drive up to the Hilton Metropole in Edgware Road, so I'm ready for the APAT Weekend at The Vic, with Des & Tighty, & 200 APAT-ers. I dare not miss this one, I've missed way too many APAT Events this Season.
I'll go home on Sunday night, & plan to rest up for a few days, I'm not in very good good shape. (No sympathy or nagging please).

Tony...definitely don't want you coming down to the Vic if you are feeling under the weather. Slow down for a couple of days, it will do you the world of good. Tighty and I are big enough to fill your boots
ps = glad the presenter game went well.

Thanks Des, but I plan to be there.
The PTP went superb, & I think it'll work well once it's bedded in.
