...and talkking of odd things, try this one for size.

I got a PM from Maureen, bla de bla de bla.

Anyway, the upshot was that they had Reece for the day today, & asked him what he would like to do.

"Go to an Indian Restaurant" said the Little Man.

So they went, & he sat there, as bold as brass, chatting to all & sundry, being greeted like the King of England, & eating poppadoms (sp?) merrily.

Now, you have to have frollowed the Reece story all the way to understand that - but most of you have.

The boy is eating. Freely. via mouth. Like a normal lad.

That is a true miracle.

God bless him, & Antonio, & everyone who's sent Karma.

just fantastic!

While we are on a soul-baring exercise as to our Cardroom, let's look at this......

There is another oddity to our Cardroom, too, but I'll deal with that seperately.

Now, a long, long, time ago, we (all of us, on the Open Forum) discussed a very awkard & controversial subject on this Forum.

The blonde "Casino".

You may or may not know, but like almost all Online Cardrooms, blonde has a "Casino" bolted on to our Cardroom. I am not sure (as I don't play Casino Table Games these days), but I believe that includes Roulette & Blackjack, or I assume it does.

All of us, Members included, had a debate about this blonde Online Casino. The question was, should we promote it openly, & commercially, is that morally correct, & in keeping with the community ethic, or should we just keep it low-profile?".

Well, on balance, the Thread came to the view that perhaps it would be better for all if we did not openly promote it, or spam it.

So we did not, & do not. It's never, ever, mentioned by anyone on blonde, be it Kev, (who is in charge of it), Rich, (overall i/c), myself, (this Post  excepted - SPAM!), or the Members.

So what?

Well this.

Despite that total lack of commercial promotion, the blonde Online Casino turns over (relatively speaking) astonishing numbers.

By which I mean, despite the almost total anonimity of it, (it's almost a secret!) the bottom line is that it produces, almost every month, more revenue than our Cardroom, which we (Kev & Rich in particular) spam to death, & work very hard so to do. Bear in kind, of course, two things....

a) Casino "turnover" is an odd thing, as the same amount of money "churns" round a lot of times. I don't know the maths, but $100 can generate thousands & thousands of "turnover".

b) The bit we keep - net profit, if you like - is not impacted by Loyalty Bonus, or whatever form of words we use to describe that beast.

Ever amazed by these numbers - in the circumstances - I have spoken to other Online Cardroom Suits, & they all say the same thing. "Yeah, it's exactly the same with us". It's like a sort of secret cottage industry.

Now isn't that an odd thing?

And I for 1 play your cardroom a lot less then I should because of it.
I know that says more about me - have donked my roll once, never again.
FWIW when winning in the Casino are you(Blonde) 100% liable, i.e does it come from you pockets?

First - well done on your big poker win the other night, nice one! About time, too. Wink

Back to your Post. My memory is hazy (there's a thing), but I seem to recall that was one of the considerations - "blue-on-blue" if you like.

Liability? blonde carries the Liability, in essence. There are little "ins & outs", to protect us, but yes, we get all the profit, or bear all the loss, minus,of course, the Network charges. (Groan).

The thing is, the numbers, while fluctuating wildly from month to month, always produce a pretty similar win %. It goes into loss some months - never much - & sometimes it produces big positive numbers, but as a rule, the performance closely matches numerical or mathematical expectation.

Thank you for the replies. I need to reflect & absorb them properly before replying.

And I'm in an absolutely foul mood today, thanks to some PM's which have succeeded in thoroughly tilting me.

I expect to last no longer than Level One in tonight's £100-er at DTD if I remain in this mood.

Hopefully you're over it now, but if you're still a sad old grumpy jaw ( aaaah ) then just remember your own wise words.

It's only the internet.  Just like real life, only less so.  So the whinegits matter even less than they do in real life.  Ok ?  So they're less important than getting a splinter in your thumb. Or bum.  Both of which are livewithable.

My moods are a bit like the weather.

If I wake up in a bad mood, all grumpy, it usually clears within a few hours.

But if I wake up all happy-dee-doo-dah, & then get grumpy, because some cloud crosses my sky, it can take days to clear.

The forecast is clear blue skies. Tomorrow.

ask a question keep a TV presenter up half the night, I'll have to think of a good one for this evening Smiley

there was a play cash with tikay night once on blonde and it wasn't very well supported iirc, we didn't fill a whole table.

I was thinking more about how there used to be a blonde sng just about every night, spontaneous rather than planned weeks in advance, I realise tikay you are busier than I could ever imagine but if you had a spare 10 minutes you could put up a post saying you're gonna play a $20 sng or whatever and you'd probably get 5 or 6 people joining you.

I would always be happy playing online cash with tikay because he splashes his chips about and makes it a fun game.

and the don't wanna sit in front of the PC 7 nights a week thing struck a cord as that is all I seem to do now, I wish I liked playing live more, it just seems so slow and expensive. perhaps it's almost time for me to get a job, hopefully one that doesn't involve siting in front of a PC 5 days a week Smiley

No questions tonight, purlease!

I like the idea of the "spontaneous" SNG's. We will do them again, & I'll donate vigorously, as always.

I actually appreciated the question, it was an excuse to get some things off my chest. I regret it now, like, because evidently I did not explain it very well, judging by some PM's, but let's not go there now.

Right I'm off to DTD, for their £100 Freezeout. Be back in an hour.....

Oh - & well done last night, on blowing away the opposition in the Trillion jobbie. You did good.

I'm not too surprised by the "casino" profits (tbh never realised their was one but just logged in to see it there, +1 for observational abilities), though it does suggest a lot of blondes on the cardroom site like to get tilt out of their systems on the magic roundabout?
