ISIHAC has recovered remarkably from the loss of Humph, in fact I'd venture so far as to say that Jack Dee has got it spot on, the perfect blend of ironic & laconic. He's made for it, really.

Strangely, the Show itself has suddenly become a little dated, it just needs some of the featured segments to be refreshed or replaced.I've yet to hear  radio audience more keen to show their eager appreciation for all of the Panel, Jeremy Hardy in particular, who has become almost cult status.

R4, it's Drama Dept excepted, remains terrific value, & a priceless asset.

They did a great comedy drama this morning......

Don't tease! - explain, please.

I ought go so some work.

I'm not teasing, they did a great comdram this AM, I just can't remember what it was called.

BTW- There's a branch of Borders accross the road from that WH Smiths.

Also BTW- I never look at the pictures, or read the foreword - prologue until I've read the book.

I'm amazed, how did I not spot that? I go to Fosse Park every week. I'm back there tomorrow, so I'll take a look, though I can't think where "across the road" (from WHS) actually would be.

I actually thought that Borders Bookshops had gone busto, a few years back.

BTW, the Costa Coffee Shop in Fosse Park charges £2.55 for a really good latte, but there is a Costa "Cabin" on the BSKYB campus at Osterley, where I am today, that only charges £1.10. Subsidised Staff Canteens FTW.

Well almost across the road...

That's not "across the road"! That's a bus-ride away.

Park up, Boots, M & S, Costa Shop, leave.

I dropped in to see Regards at Sytner Leicester yesterday afternoon, & it was closed - they were all locked inside watching the Football! Bloody football must be costing the Nation millions in lost wasted time.

Good spot Patrick, never trust those local lads who live 10 minutes from Fosse Park.

I think I owe you a reply to a PM, sorry, I'm a bit behind.

Used to be a good Sports bookshop (Sporting Pages or such like) in Charing Cross Road, also the old bookshops in Cecil Court are well worth a trip.

Have fun in LV.

Plenty of photos please Tikay.

If you are in London before you leave Tony you should take a trip to High Stakes Publishing, 21 Great Ormonde Street. You will get a months worth of books in there.

Thanks Phil.

I don't have time pre-Vegas, but I will pay a visit after I return.

Yes - the one that has a "corner" site, IIRC? Same reply as to Phil.

Vegas - will do, & yes, photos galore. I'm obliged to Post them elsewhere, but I'm sure they'll find their way onto here, too.

I watched a bit of Glasto last night - that's been going for forty years now, wow! I vividly recall the first one, & yet the majority of Members here were not born then.

I thought Gorillaz were awesome, as good as it gets, & far better than the pretentious U2, who they replaced, would have been. And what an interesting - & good - choice, Snoop Doggy Dog was to share the Gorillaz set. Genius thinkage, that, & I drooled.

It's odd who & what the Glasto regs like & dislike.

Who'd have thought that they'd be warm - very warm - to the near 80 year old Rolf Harris (as they were to Dame Bassey a few years back), but Gorillaz would get mixed reviews?

I am deffo out of the youth loop & mindset, & the days of me understanding what ticks their boxes are long gone.

I was there and enjoyed Rolf, didn't watch Gorillaz but have watched it online (http://www.bbc.co.uk/glastonbury/2010/artists/gorillaz/).

Rolf was on as the first act in the morning, has a bit of a novelty factor and was entertaining - I enjoyed him and glad I saw him, but it's not a direct comparison to Gorillaz.

Having watched the Gorillaz set online I'm glad I didn't see them as I would have been disappointed, although I did enjoy watching it. I only knew 2 songs (I bought their first album, but not the next 2) and their music isn't very upbeat - I don't think it makes a good headliner for the main stage of a festival where many people won't know many songs. They also didn't seem to have as much of a show as headliners usually do - I expect it's because they were a late addition to the bill and they just brought their tour show across - not their fault but a factor all the same (unless you just can't see it in the highlights!)

2 of my friends watched them and 1 wished he'd watched the flaming lips (he saw the end of them and was impressed) and the other loved Gorillaz but thought the crowd spoiled it a little (people were talking/not paying attention/not into it and it spoiled the atmosphere).

I saw the flaming lips instead of Gorillaz and it was great - http://www.bbc.co.uk/glastonbury/2010/artists/theflaminglips/

I've noticed they've cut some of the theatrics out though -the band come entrance was by coming through the screen being giving birth to by a giant animated woman.

Hope that makes sense I've not had much sleep and it was a pretty long drive home Smiley

Thanks Bongo.

I do think that to appreciate  Gorillaz, one needs a greater level of sophistication & class than many of their detractors possess. Wink
