There's a "deepstack" in Luton , early March.

http://englishdeepstackpoker.com/

50,000 chips......you can sit out till the final day Wink

That'll be Mr Lacey's baby, I assume?

Hmm......tricky one.

We crossed swords over some bad business in Ireland a few years ago, & then again, over the way he treated blonde, & in particular, myself, after we did some Green Joker Poker satellites back in the day. The culprit, of course, was Aqua, who had the money, but were farting around with currency translation from $ to € as I recall. Tighy will confirm in both cases.

Are Green Joker Poker still alive & well?

It was a weird story, but he got very uppity with me, & I returned the favour, hopefully with a shade more dignity. We had been quite good friends back in the day, & both of us semi'd together in the Deauvile EPT in '04 or '05.

Dilemmas, dilemmas.

No point cutting your nose off to spite your face. (At least not unless you have to drive all the way to Brighton to do it)

Not wrong Tom. I'll think about it.

Not going to The Rendezvous next week then, I assume?......Wink

I might do, under the right circumstances.....

Talking of "you could not make it up", there was an Interview with a 14 year old kid on the wireless tonight, the piece was based upon the fact that he's invented this weird online game called Angry Birds, but had allowed users to download it for free, & he said "yeah, I'll make my money from players who want to purchase the add-ons". This was a squeaky-voiced 14 year old talking, lol, bless him, & fair play to him, too.

I went googling, & the story seems to be bullshit.

But here's the thing - the game has sold 12 million copies.

Fair enough - until you read the basis of the game. If it was a boxed game available in shops, it'd have a label saying "suitable for 3 to 5 year olds".

I must be so out of touch with today's youth, it's scary if that's the sort of thing they consider quality time.

Have a look at this, & tell me you'd not be worried if a kid of yours aged 6 or over thought this was fun.

You'll find Angry Birds mentioned on two blonde threads.  One for iphone apps and the other thread for android apps.

You think that's the point James?

You've insulted me about this before, and I told you in no uncertain terms what I thought the last time.

I'll tell what though, why don't you give the manager the £10 instead. Then if someone else makes a 300 mile round trip and pays £50 pounds juice to play a £500 comp, He wont have to single them out as a non-regular and ask them for a £4 contribution towards the cost of the buffet that everyone else was getting for free.

lol MrsB plays this, and quite a few others do as well. It seems to be one of those "once you start playing it, you have to finish it" type things.

Then again, she also reads Harry Potter Wink

The story is true, you just googled the wrong game.  His game is Bubble Ball which has just just knocked Angry birds of their perch .

No, not yet, Fat Lad.

Anything interesting going off in Cardiff or Swansea? Lol, that sounds ridic. I mean, you know, poker, not Welshmen singing or whatever they do.

Seriously, I'd rather enjoy coming down there & meeting up with the boys again. Who won from a huge field last time I came down, can you remember?

How's the new Lappie working? You up to 2 Tabling yet?

What is a wireless?

And why is playing an online game any less of a waste of time than spending 357 days, 20 hours and 45 minutes on a poker forum?

I might, I dunno. I can't quite explain why it does not give me the expected "buzz", but it does not, for some reason. Maybe, maybe not.

I'll almost certainly play the monthly DTD £300 though. First time I've been able to in a year or more.

Last time I played it I got lucky on Day Two & ran up a bit of a stack, when THREE players jammed in front of me & I looked down at two red aces. I made the hero call & they held, I've never had so many chips. The adrenelin raced, & I managed to 5 bet the lot into Kings with A-K within minutes. T'was a long drive home.

I believe the modern terminology for a wireless is a Radio. HM The Queen-ness refers to it as a "wireless", so that'll do for me.

I agree, as my hero Phil Bull once famously described horse racing, that poker is "the great triviality", but to be fair, Angry Birds is surely a game for indulging young children.

Tell you what, & this is something that got mentioned elsewhere on this Board today, maybe poker is divided into the can's & the cannot's - those who can or can't read C & P-ed hand Histories.

I tried reading one once, about 11 years ago, & it made my eyes bleed for days. Now my eyes just glaze over when I see them, I have to insta-change threads. Until today, I thought I was the only one, but apparently there are two of us. Hooray for the silent minority.

Not much going on in Cardiff - shame really, awesome card room but the tourneys aint great - any fish can bink Wink
Swansea - no chance - last time I played there was the SPT weekend - dealing for yourself suks!!

Think a few of us from next door would be up for a DTD comp - the DS or ukipt, spoke to ash and im sure lewis and a few others would be up to play.

I wish I could only 2 table - save me some moniez then Cheesy
