Tighty & I are on slightly different wavelengths. Which is no bad thing. We've had a cracking debate about it - quite a robust debate - on the Mods Board. He's a wonderful man to debate with, he tells it as he sees it, me too, &
it never gets to arguing - some fail to see the difference

Dear Vinnybhoy
Welcome to the Sky Poker forum. One might support the hoops, as implied by your username, but one should never wear them

Vinnyboyo,
Thanks very much for your insightful question. I guess it all depends on whether you take the tournament seriously enough to win it or not. If you're just playing to donk some money off I would suggest limping here. Only very Experienced, with a capital E, poker players would consider pushing here to teach all the kids a lesson.

Andy Gray sacked - jeez.
Back notes on that soon. A surprise, but not a surprise.
Don't get off Message at BSKYB, if you do, the retribution will be swift.

Dear Vinny,
A tricky situation indeed. We want to try to narrow the field since we will be playing the rest of the hand oop from the small blind.
Now you say that the table has been limpy and I notice that the blinds are 25/50 so we can assume that we have only played one or two orbits.
I think its time to make a stance to the rest of the table. I suggest taking a slow look at your cards again, then stand up sharply and simultaneously shove all of you chips into the middle of that table as hard as you can aka “Hellmuth” style whilst at the same time shouting “Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr in” at the top of your voice.
You will scare the table shitless and you only worry will be that the Big Blind wakes up to AA or KK, which in all honesty, is very unlikely.

Sky Sports perpetuate the notion that women in football/football media should be nothing but eye candy as evidenced by their policy of only selecting same for Sky sports news etc
Put female football journalists in reporting positions regardless of looks and you change the mysogynistic attitude of many of the ex-pros who rock up to Sky punditry.

A newbie appeared next door today, probably a blonde. Here's his maiden Post on the "Ask tikay" thread.
Hi mate,
I'm new to the forum.
Quick question for you.
I'm in a live game. It's a £50 freezeout.
It's a very 'limpy' table. The blinds are 25/50 and we have our starting stack of 8500.
5 limpers. We have AQ unsuited in the sb.
What is the best play here?
A Make up the 25 and hope to hit
B Rise it up to 250
C Make it 8500
TIA
The guys alias is "vinnybhoy".
Any ideas how I might construct an on-message reply?
Must work on disguising my identity

Diet not going as well as I'd hoped. Lost 9lbs since January 10th (13st 4lbs now), so still 4lbs to go to reach 13st, which I had targeted for Jan 31st.
Overall target is to try & get to 12st by March 12th, then re-assess. That means losing 18lbs in about 46 days. Possible, but tight, highly unlikely in fact.
But I'm happy with the discipline, & I'm eating the right stuff. Not cheated once, & not been tempted to. Clothes are slowly fitting better, too, but I have yet to feel zippidy-zing. It'll come.
I have developed a little growth on my chin, not anything serious, just a sort of flap or nodule of skin, but a bit of a problem shaving round it. My Dad developed several of them in later life. Does not hurt or ache, no sensation at all. It needs to come off - the Make-Up lady at 865 has heart failure when she sees it. "You can't go in the Studio with that". Kinda hard to leave it behind though.
Apparently, you can get stuff in boots which "freezes" it & it falls off. Looking forward to doing that. Not.
Almost won my "own" take-on tikay Tourney last night, after bombing out of the other three badly. Got outrageously lucky time after time, & still could not win the H-U, I'm hopeless. So I won about £75, I think, meanwhile Triggy was cashing for $76k on 'Stars I heard!
It's a really nice thing to win my own badged Tourneys, & I really got stuck in & did my best, but it was not to be.
Tonight, after a fearful afternoon, I was due to play 4 Tourneys, but I sat in 90 minutes late, & was never in the hunt in any of them.

Jumped a Piccadilly Line train at 5pm after ICE at Earls Court, it is 35 minutes to Hatton Cross, where I'd dumped the car.
Announcement by the driver - "passenger incident at Boston Manor, being attended to by paramedics". Code for "body under train" usually. Train was terminated at Northfields, & we were all told to leave the Station. Annoying, but I kept thinking how annoying it must have been for the passenger who was in trouble. So terrible.
1,000 train-less peeps at Northfield, they gave us alternative Bus Routes, the Hatton Cross Bus was 5 changes, & about 500 people were in the bus queue. Wandered around for an hour trying to find a cab, no chance.
Returned to the Station, & now they had re-opened the line, but not to Heathrow, only to Hounslow Central. Oh well, it's 5 miles nearer the car, so I jumped on the train again.
Off again at Hounslow, rinse repeat trying to find a cab or a bus amidst the throng of disembarked passengers. Wandered around aimlessly, happy to walk the rest of the way, 5 miles or whatever, but had no idea which direction to set off on. Very down, & not even bothered about walking.
Eventually, spotted a cab office, & started to walk towards it.
The traffic was just stoppy-starty, zero to 30mph to zero sort of thing. Lots of peeps were trying to cross the road. And I saw it coming, in slow-motion.
An Asian lady, completely oblivious to the cars coming the opposite way, tried to cross between stationery traffic on one side. The dull thud as the car hit her was sickening. She sort of flew up in the air, over the car roof, & landed in the road behind the car. Everyone just froze, she lay motionless. A man walking right behind her had been gabbing on his Moby when it happened, & he never broke convo, just carried on talking & walking, after stepping round her inert body. There was nothing he could do, of course, but his (in)action just seemed so incongrous with the tragedy we'd all just witnessed. A big crowd gathered round her, & I just wandered off. Like Moby man, I suppose.
I wanted to just go home, home home, there & then, & never open the front door again. Ugh.
Eventually I got back to my Hotel, set up the lappie, & sat in to my Tourneys. In unison, about 8 players all typed (various variations of) "just woke up tikay?, lol" & "glad you joined us at last". They were not to know, but I was in no mood to explain myself.
On the Site, I'm supposed to be happy & chatty 24/7, & I do a good job of networking with as many players as I'm able. Not tonight though.
Had better days, & tomorrow I get to enjoy the tortous M6 Motorway to Manchester.

ICE was as expected, bigger than ever, & a lot of people there. Some amazing kit around these days, all because of the Internet, without which, none of it would exist.
Must have bumped into 100 folks I know, mostly industry peeps. Nobody mentioned the thing on my chin, but I imagined they all stared at it. It's misroscopic, but it seems huge.
I hard a tale last week about 888 taking Ladbrokes poker off of Ladbrokes, which would make sense, & it was all over ICE today, everyone had the rumour. That'll be interesting for some of the Networks, if true. Probably just rumour.
Chatted a good bit with some UNIBET execs, & Sarah B, who holds a nice position there, she used to work at Sky Poker a while back, lovely kid. She invited me to their Live Event in Malta in March, very nice, it's a £1,500 jobbie I think, but it'd be kinda awkward given my contractual situation. Can't have cake & eat it, no regrets.
The Racing Post had a stand & a coffee bar, & we had a sumptous latte.
Had met up with Mother, Mandy, Dan, & my Leeds Boss, Richard Milner, but somehow I missed the SB&G MD, Richard Flint, & Des Duffy. As I walked into Earls Court Station & waved goodbye to some pals, "take care" I bumped into Des Duffy. "I heard "take care" & knew it must be you"! He's lost something like 6 stone in a year, amazing transformation.
