I've eventually stopped dithering, & decided to swerve the UKIPT, probably sold out now, anyway.
I don't quite know why, but I struggled to get revved up for it all week, it's been quite a difficult week, too, it's left me drained. And to top it all, I'm a little sub-par today, so I'm going to take to my bed for the afternoon. Bit of a bugger that, as today was "catch up on PM's" day, both here & next door, but I'm as flat as a pancake, & a bit iffy, & I just can't bring myself to face the mountain.
I played (in a manner of speaking) the £300 last weekend, thoroughly enjoyed every minute, so it'll do me no harm to swerve the UKIPT this weekend. I have a financial interest in 3 or 4 different players, & have spent about £800 I think, so at least I can enjoy the UKIPT through their progress. Or not. In fact, if I played, that'd mean I'd spent the fat end of £1,400 on the UKIPT weekend, & I think that's too much, way too much, given what it is, it's not exactly the WSOP. So, I'm happy with the swerve. Shame not to see so many pals, as I did last week, but there it is.
I am working Online tonight, PTP, & playing three back-to-back rebuys, I used to abhor Rebuys, but I now quite like playing them Online, to be honest.
Last night was very odd, the Live Show was delayed by an hour due to technical issues, & the sense of anti-climax when the first hour got cancelled was huge, I was really in an odd state, with adrenelin surging, & nowhere to go. Perhaps that's why I'm under the weather today, adrenelin poisoning.
I might just try & rest up this weekend, that'd be a first, & try & get my oomph back, be handy to clear the work backlog, too. Struggled to get out of bed every morning this week, too.
Diet going OK, slow but steady. I'm marooned in the 12-13 to 13-0 range, seems to be stuck, but it'll drop in time.

Looks like another £25 in the Live Update kitty after tonight. I've got a 3-Tourney "best aggregate" Last-Longer with a mate, "Big D", aka Dylan, who has no idea how to play the game.
Never lost one to him yet, so that's £25 in the Live Update fund for sure.

I now gather poor old Trevor Bailey died in a fire, at the Nursing Home where he resided. I think he may have had Alzheimers for some years, too.
Reading all the obits of him today was something else - he would be, if differenrt eras could be compared (I don't think they can) a contendor for the world's greatest all-rounder. 2,000 runs & 100 wickets in a season once is outstanding, almost unique.
Here's the a-b-c stuff from Wiki, but try & read up on all the obits, he was a most extraordinary man.

True, or false?
Highest ever USA TV viewing audience - Super Bowl, 2011.
Second highest - Super Bowl, 2010
Third Highest - The 1983 "M*A*S*H" finale.
Not sure I buy that - perhaps different measuring criteria used. If true, a remarkable stat, which would say a great deal.
On the face of it, a really quirky stat.
I think I'm a seller.

John Paul Getty III died earlier this week, aged 52, he'd been blind, & a quadriplegic, for some 27 years, after a stroke induced by over-indulgence of alcohol & drugs. His Mother had looked after him personally, since he first became ill.
Earlier in life, he'd been kidnapped. Wike summed it up like this.....
and at 3am on 10 July 1973, Getty was kidnapped in the Piazza Farnese in Rome.[1] A ransom note was received, demanding $17 million in exchange for his safe return. When that ransom message arrived, some family members suspected the kidnapping was merely a ploy by the rebellious Paul as he had frequently joked about staging his own kidnapping to extract money from his frugal grandfather. Meanwhile, Paul was blindfolded and imprisoned in a mountain hideout. A second demand was received, but had been delayed by an Italian postal strike.[3] Jean Paul Getty II asked his father for the money, but was refused.[4] In November 1973, an envelope containing a lock of hair and a human ear was delivered to a daily newspaper, with a threat of further mutilation of Paul unless $3.2 million was paid: "This is Paul's ear. If we don’t get some money within 10 days, then the other ear will arrive. In other words, he will arrive in little bits."
At this point Jean Paul agreed to pay a ransom, though he would only pay $2.2 million because that was the maximum amount that was tax deductable. The remainder he loaned to his son who was responsible for repaying the sum at 4% interest
.[3] The reluctant Getty Sr. negotiated a deal and got his grandson back for about $2.9 million
So much jaw-dropping stuff in there!
When his ear was posted with the note "pay within 10 days or we cut off another ear" the kidnappers forgot there was a postal strike on. That ear must have been well pongy when it eventually arrived.
But dig deeper, & here's the real dilemma.
The Family originally refused to pay the ransom demand, as there were loads of other family grandchildren, & they feared that if they paid, all the other kids would be put at equal risk. Which might cost them their lives. Or a lot of money.....
What would you do in that spot? Pay up, & risk further kidnappings, or call their bluff? What a tough spot.

Yes, certainly, but do you not find the 27 year gap between 3rd & 2nd a little odd?
I buy "2011 Superbowl biggest ever audience", but the overall top 3 stat looks sussy to me.

Probably to do with their being much fewer telly channels 27 years ago. According to Wiki the Mash finale had a massive 79.2% of all households watching it. the only thing I can think of that's bigger in the states in the superbowl.

Possible, but very unlikely, for a variety of reasons, some which I previously explained. In a way I'd love to, but then again, I'd hate myself if I did. I belive Tighty may have some good news about it soon, though.
Did you win your £10,000 Vegas package on Sky Poker, then? Just a fold to the seat jobbie for you, I'd have thought.

I think paying them would be too dangerous.
If I were Jean Paul I would have gone on telly with the entire 3,2 mil piled up on a table. Then I would have said to the kidnappers,
"I'm not giving this money to you, but if I don't get my Grandson back alive, I'll spend every last penny tracking you down".
