When I went in November it was fine during the day and light jacket weather at night. Windy too

I'm mainly playing @ Venetian, & staying @ Mirage, so that's literally just across the road, yeah?

Not far, but then that is across the road in Vegas, whIch could well still warrant a cab :0)

I was also trying to find the subtle humour but I couldn't :0(

I saw this on todays Live Update, & it tickled me. Anyone who has played live poker will have seen it a million times, but it still intrigues me. The names are not important, & I'm not knocking, but I wonder what sort of complex cogs & wheels are not meshing properly inside people's minds when this happens?

On a 3-8-10 flop a 1,000 bet is raised to 5,000 by Oliver Ward on the button

Richard Griffiths c-raise all in to 14,000

Ward calls

Griffiths "Have you got a set?"

Ward "Yes"

Griffiths "Tens?"

Ward "No" and flips 3-3

Griffiths reveals 8-8

When I am at the table & see that sort of thing going off - & I'm not in a rush & I AM very patient, but a bit of me wants to scream "ffs, just TURN THEM OVER BOYS".

But there must be a deep psychological reason why peeps waste 10, 20, seconds with all that nonsense, whilst the rest of the Table sit & wait. If they snap turn their hands over, they'll see what the other guy has. Seems pretty simple to me.

Tikay
I was in Vegas until Thursday and it was hot all the time I was there. Was forecast to be windy and cooler this weekend but defo nowhere near 5 degrees C, more around 60f
Was noticeably cooler in the shade when the wind was up though.

I wore shorts/T shirt all week, but I don't ever feel cold

That's more like it!

Hope you had a good trip.

Now I just need to convert 60f into celsius. Minus 32 x 9/5ths is it?

Is this a proper break to Vegas your taking?
If so, I hope you will be off twitter, facebook etc
I also hope you write a little blog at the end of your holiday so that we can read up on how many penalties you managed this trip Smiley

I'll reply to that properly later, I gotta go & prep for tonight's Show now, & before that, record a Show of the UKOPS High-Roller Final.

Incidentally, young Lil-Dave has just Posted next door, in the straddling thread. Think he wants me to help him out with a bit of high-stakes Omaha mentoring.

For a teenager, he writes remarkably well.

After the Inland Revenue built a large set of offices in Nottingham, the local Castle Rock brewery opened a nearby pub called the Vat and Fiddle.

It's quite near the station but also quite near a pretty dodgy part of town.

Nice sig. sir. (I passed "o" level Latin)

A mysterious radioactive shipping container story: http://www.wired.com/magazine/2011/10/ff_radioactivecargo/all/1

I also noticed that you'll miss a TV show while you are away that looks right up your street.  Channel4 Thu 9pm - Brunel's Last Launch - examining the launching of Isambard Kingdom Brunel's SS Great Eastern in 1858.  The only downside is that it's presented by Tony Robinson.
