Mrs O's barnet must be a were-wolf as it doesn't cast any shadow.

You just have to look at her head instead of her bush.

I thought that was vampires?

You're confusing shadows with reflections.  A vampire has a shadow but no reflection.  A werewolf has both a shadow and a reflection, and on occasion has attacked it's reflection.  Except for Teen Wolf obviously who just liked Basketball and Truck Surfing.

I've heard (many times) that only Richard Ashcroft casts no shadow.

I thought this was quite good (I'm not a big Express reader):

Respect to Australia's Michael Clarke, after his extraordinary efforts yesterday at SCG - 329 not out, eat your heart out Bradman!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael_Clarke_(cricketer)

So, needing well over 400 just to make the Aussies bat again, the stage is set for Tendulkar, this might be just the right time & place for him to reach his own special milestone. The flags will fly when he does, Sachin is probably more respected - for his demeanour as much as his game - than any living cricketer.

Morning Neil, & I'm, much relieved to hear you are not a "big" Express reader. In fact, I'd be surprised, by definition, if such a thing existed, it's a cover to cover in 3 mins affair at best.

Quite enjoyed that link, thank you, it's a sort of Masterclass in headline writing.

Amazing

Wonderdrug

Miracle cure

Shock

Chaos

Starve ("UK begins to starve", lol)

Deadly bug

Superbug

Hayfever hell

Fury

Disaster

I suppose it makes sense - headlines need to be short & snappy, & major on outstanding stuff, but it's be nice to see more moderate stuff like "Current situation quite good"....I may even read it then.

Hope you don't mind me asking a personal question, but have you entered into a sort of (good-natured, one would hope) spamming war with "The Vic"?

I ask because I was quite surprised to see this yesterday, as "knocking copy" is still, I'm pleased to say, something we don't see too much of......

Pack it up, Tommy, wrong Diary, we don't do all that arty nonsense here, we do proper things.

Still, I do want to congratulate you on that UKOPS bink - £15,000 - probably the biggest Tourney win ever on Sky Poker, at a guess? Your Sharkscope graph now looks pretty neat too, what a turn-round halfway along, how did that happen, did you change your game or something?

We'd like you to come on 865 as a Guest one evening, if you are up for it, just say the word, & I'll sort it. Go on, you know you want to.....

This is something I thought of when I was reading Cos's diary earlier.

One of those things you should really see when in Borneo, but I am not sure I could recommend it.

There is a beautiful park on the site of a Japanese POW camp.

For those who want the back story, it is here.  I must warn people that this really shocked me when I first read about it.

Thank you Doobs, that's a bit of a reality check.

I need to ask you a question. I sort of put all Members into different "boxes", if I do not know them personally, I read all their Posts to try & get a mental picture of them when in doubt, but you are something of a mystery to me. I can't figure your age, what you do for a living, your poker story, anything at all, & I'd like to.

Any chance of a 2 line Bio, please?

Heres one to get you started, unless its already been posted

Happy New Year

Thanks Craig, & a belated HNY to you, too.

Some water has flowed under your particular bridge in the last 8 or 9 years, eh? And yes to that PM you sent me recently, we could tell a tale or two if we were so minded.......

PS - Hope all goes well with that big Tourney later this year - don't be afraid to spam it on here.

This one has several sections for you to peruse.

http://lightbox.time.com/time-pictures-of-the-year-2011/

Great stuff, thank you, keep them coming please.

Next door it's dead bonfires, peanuts, & stripey cows, we can do better than that. Might stick up some concrete photos later.

Crombies are the dogs bollox
Truly, I've had two in my entire life, the first lasted 15 years, the next I still have, that one has managed 30 years, & it's as good as the day I got it. I never wear it, mind.
I took my Dad out on Friday night and he was talking about the coat he was wearing. He bought it to attend my first carol concert when I went to the Grammar School as he didn't have one until then - we were not well off and they seemed to spend most of their money on my school uniforms. Anyway - he wore it on Friday and I remarked that it had worn well (don't do the maths) and he admitted that he rarely wore it as it was a posh coat - so he only wore it for Christmas and when he went out with me.
It wasn't until later I realised he might have been having a dig....

It is a Crombie and a beautiful coat. Good choice.

Have a lovely break, stay off the internet. x

Well I did stay off the internet, Miss D - I had no choice, there WAS no internet, there was not even much phone signal, it was usually unavailable.

Hope the Comedy career is booming - been looking out for you on the telly!

Get it done, am incredibly proud that you have been so brave, talking the talk is easy, walking the walk, not so much.

Well I was a bit dispondant this week as my car broke down on Christmas Eve - I had to be repatriated by trailer with the AA and my car can't be sorted until next week (hopefully) if he can sort it out/get the parts. So I didn't put myself up for any gigs because I'm almost on house arrest. Still the flats tidy and ALL the ironing is done.

Then today I get an email about the competition i entered telling me my heat is THIS SATURDAY the 7th of January at the Goat Tavern, Stafford Street in Mayfair at 8pm. GULP. Which is great because I can go by train if I need to.

So if anyone wants to come along it's £6 to get in and there are about 10  -15 acts, each of 5 minutes so if you don't like one another one will be along in no time. If anyone does come please vote for me.....and please laugh at me .......Tnx

Good luck Saturday, Miss D, & I hope a few blondes stagger along to rail you.

I gather Dad is not so well right now, with that damn dreaded disease. Thoughts are with you both.

Which poker player would write a line like this amongst their NYR's?

i) Get a hobby. Badminton, running, pottery, anything that is completely non-poker and I do at least 3 times a month, it's getting to the stage now where I really need to have something in my life which isn't driven by financial accumulation[/b]

Worth taking a look, trust me, & most of us would do well if we did half as well as he does, even though he's only a kid......

http://bit.ly/v0w3BR

saw the banner on the top right of that blog and i knew straight away it'd be a goodun.

He has a Sky Poker banner up? (Go on son, volley that one in).
