DTD increase the monthly £300 to £500, & the field size shoots up, despite WPT Dublin, & the Monthly Fox Club £3000. Incredible. Such a complete idiot, that Trumper, eh?
Expect to see a new monthly "mini £300" (at lesser cost, maybe £100 or whatever), & the £500 to become permanent.
Meanwhile, goodbye old friend, the DTD Monthly £300, which did so much to change UK Tourney Poker. There is no way it can survive now.
Once a quarter imo to keep it special.
I'm pretty sure it will be every month from now.
I bet they will do their bollocks on overlays if they do.

On the Live Update, someone asked if Ronnie De Beaulox's surname was pronounced as spoken.....
It was not his original name, which was something rather bland as I recall, but he changed it by Deed Poll many years ago.
Quite a character, is Ronnie, never done a days work in his life. Last I heard, he had a cottage right by the finishing Post on Lingfield Racecourse. Never done a days work in his life, fully qualified degen. Quite likeable, too. We shared a rather dramatic experience @ Moscow Airport 7 or 8 years ago, my eyes still wince at the mere thought of it. Ronnie was the chief troublemaker on that occasion. He'd been caught "smuggling" currency through Customs, so the moody Immigration Officials "fined" him. (Fined = took a bribe). All standard stuff in Russia, except Ronnie kicked up a right fuss because he demanded a receipt & they refused to issue one, quite obviously......
Ha, some folk eh. Must admit I thought it was a nickname at first , but just couldn't see the DTD updater taking the mick like that.
But if you get Jas Herbert in there....
Myself and mr Trumper had tears streaming down our eyes yesterday and had one of those moments where no matter what you do you just can't stop yourself laughing. He eventually had to hand the microphone to someone else. The reason was the opening of an alternates table and Simon had to call for a young Chinese player....... Weikan Wang

No Ralph, sorry.
I just spoke to Tom, who has taken Mrs Red out for Dinner, exactly as he did previously, in 2008, then he plans to play a Tourney on Laddies @ 3pm, €190 jobbie with a 15 minute clock, I believe. As he let me down with the Staking yesterday, I fully expect him to win the Laddies affair.
I exited late last night - about 10pm I think - after flopping my first set of the weekend. Shame Matey Boy flopped a bigger set......anyway, I decided to return to London last night, & I'm just chilling today, I've had a really challenging week at work, & driven too far this weekend, & the M1 being closed does not help, either.
I put those cigars in my car for you yesterday, too, but plum forgot to leave them at DTD for you, sorry.

If Timeform had a blonde Diary, it would say.....
WPT Dublin, Grade 2. Exploded out of the stalls, very strong early pace, up with the leaders throughout, took a breather three out, totally dominated the field. Entered the final furlong leading by a distance, & won hard held. Fully exposed, but may still have improvement in him. Can be
tempremental
, runs better when blinkered
.
P
Is Timeform known for its awful spelling?
Quite the opposite, in fact, they are very geeky as to such things. (You'd fit in well there....).
I have a terrible habit of spelling that word wrong every time I use it, which annoys me somewhat.
On Thurday, I wrote elsewhere about a young female player who has, in my opinion, a glittering future in poker, & in a Post which I took some time to consider & construct nicely, I added at the end of a list of positives, "has a wonderful table demeanour & temprement". I do like bigging up folks, in a world where dissing everyone seems the default setting.
A kid then came on TrollBook & dissed me for my spelling, so 5 others +1'd it. Not one person took the trouble to wish the girl well, marv. The girl came on later & thanked me, though, so that'll do me.
Still, I'll learn from my carelessness.
Every time I spell that word wrong again in 2012 on my Diary, £10 goes to charity
.
PS - Hope you are well, Mr Geek.
I thought that you had decided that you were too old to go broke again?
P.S. As a handy hint the editor puts a red line underneath incorrectly spelled words
.
Ooh, very droll.
It does that red squiggly line thing on my Microsoft Outlook, but not on blonde, or not for me, anyway.
Talking of which, I struggle with this sentence, too....
As a handy hint the editor puts a red line underneath incorrectly
spelled
words
....as I get confused by the difference in usage between
"spelled" & "spelt"
.
Think my faculties are starting to fail.
Now, go away, I have
lodes
of stuff to Post.
They are totally interchangeable. I prefer "spelt" personally but used "spelled" on this occasion because the Blonde editor put a red line under "spelt".
I can't believe that in such a pedantic conversation tikay let you get away with writing 'Blonde'

"Blonde" as in "blonde poker". I didn't start it.
You used apostrophes rather than quotation marks too. That's atrocious.

Don't worry Tony I'm not really all that keen on venturing beyond the confines of my humble abode today anyhow.
I saw your exit hand on the update last night. It's things like that which have caused me to lose my pojo.
Well that and the pesky kidz.

Went to Luton on Friday night for the £110 thing, which plays rather too slow even for me. 6 paid, finished 8th, & I think business was being done as I left the Table.
Good fun, though, shared Tables with the likes of Eso Kral, some Norweigan hotpots, & a girl with the shortest dress I've ever seen. Oh, & spent several hours on a Table with Angry Greg Raymer, who kindly educates everyone after every hand. I kissed Cardroom Manager George, too for services rendered.
I busted @ about 4am I think, & was in bed by 5am.
Saturday, drove all the way up to DTD, used the A1 to avoid the M1 closure, quite a pleasant drive actually.
Played OK first few hours & garnered a few chips, then butchered 2 hands & was down amongst the dead men. Opened up a bit, was soon back in good shape, but then fell asleep before running 4-4 into 6-6 on a flop of 4-5-6.
Had a really lovely Table, all good lads, most of whom I've known for many a year.
Steve Redfearn - AMRN on here, I think - busted me, he's a terrific, & most wholesome character, he still says his APAT win counts more than anything else. His Twitter Profile says
"Dad of four, IT Service Manager, recreational poker player, ASA swimming referee".
Top top chap, who has the balance in his life just right. I'm blessed to know such good guys.
I knew both him & Matt Russell for about 4 years before I learned to tell the physical difference between them. (Only one of them can play).

So, the poker account for the weekend reads like this;
2 live events played, entry fees £670, miles driven 360, time spent travelling 7 hours, one way & another, call it a grand. Returns, abso zero, though I had a terrific time hooking up with so many old friends, which must have a value of some sorts.
Meanwhile, staking outlay for the week, via three different players, was £624, for which I received £4,255 in return.
It's been like that for about 12 months now, & I'm starting to get the message - I'm shite at playing, & run incredibly good @ the staking. Probably best not complain.
