Talking of longevity, & institutions, as we - well just me, as there is no feedback - are (am?) today, hands up if you have never eaten a Cadburys Creme Egg?

They are only sold between Jan 1st & Easter - God knows what happens to the unsold ones - but they sell 200 million of them annually, & the Cadburys factory churns out - lays? - 1.5 million of the things every day during the manufacturing season. What do they make the rest of the year, in that spare production capacity, I wonder?

PS - Bet gatters is first to spot the deliberate mistake in that photograph.....

Trailer number plate.

I see Tom brought the culture over on the Robbie trousers pic. He's a Stokie (Robbie, not Tom) you know but the stupid side of him stems from him being a Port Vale supporter.
Must be something else, that's a trailer on a trailer.

So it is. Is it the wheel clamp?

I see Tom brought the culture over on the Robbie trousers pic.

And wonder ye not if his speech be uncouth,
nor look ye much for his rhymes to be smooth,
nor that the words should flow lofty and free,
from one with so little schooling as he.

A rough stab from memory, with my apologies to the author.

And wonder ye not if his speech be uncouth
nor look ye much for his rhymes to be smooth
nor that the words should flow lofty and free
from one with so little schooling as he
For all of his aptest years were past
In primal solitudes wild and vast

But nurture thus, self urged he knew
Australia’s virgin muse to woo
And of songs bright mysteries gan to guess
With a lone and eager studiousness
While toiling along the ploughs first tracks
Or twixt the strokes of the felling axe
Or while upon the prairie wide
Where the savage whooped and the wild dog cried

Charles Harpur, an Australian of Irish descent.

The reason I had heard of this piece is a discussion I had with an Aussie who used to work beside me.

The bolded line was the reason.  "gan" in Scots means "has gone." But in this line it is an abbreviation of began. Most written variations you will actually see this jotted as 'gan

Nope, it was just a misread, & pokerfan busted me.

Can the motorised egg not be road legal and therefore hold it's own registraion?

Rear left wheel of egg has suspension which leads me to believe this may be the case, however I would have expected some sort of Q plate

Used to love 'Have I Got News....' in the Deayton years, and watched it pretty much every week.
For me, Deayton was the glue, that kept the component parts together. Very consistent, and with good timing.

Saw a few of the episodes made immediately after his dismissal, and they were mostly patchy at best. I do recall both Charles Kennedy and Martin Clunes being host to episodes that were very good, but given that they were one-offs, it wasn't enough to hook me back in.
In truth, I was getting tired of TV anyway, have watched it infrequently over the last few years, and would probably have lapsed watching HIGNFY, even if Deayton had remained.

Saw this interesting statement on the Deayton Wiki page....'Stephen Fry has supported Deayton by refusing to appear on the show again.'

Yes, that caught my eye, too. Presumably, then, he does not get along with Ian &/or Paul?

How is the "Full House" C4P chase going, Neil? And if you no longer watch TV, what do you plan to do with the giant plasma TV you do not want?!

Quite a good read if you like poetry. In this version you'll see the apostrophe.

Going very well, thank you - will be at 60k by Wednesday at the latest (obviously not a patch on young Nutter, who is there already).

My initial intention was to sell the TV, as we already have a perfectly adequate wide screen thingy.
Unfortunately, my 9-y-o has a slightly different take on the situation, and we intend to commence negotiations shortly.

Message for 77Dave.....

Yes, Sky Poker DO accept Moneybookers, plus PayPal, Neteller, & all the usual credit cards.

So yes, you have no excuse not to play next week's £220 Sky Poker Tour affair in G-Luton.

Be there.

I really do hope as many of my friends as possible play it, the Luton & DTD legs of SPT are tops.

Chomps, Vinni, Pizzled, Scotty77, Jeff Buffenburger, Thewy, British Gas, Angry Greg Raymer, & loads more are all lined up, & we are going to have a terrific weekend. I've arranged for Vinni to be interviewed by Anna Fowler, she's drooling already, & Sarah Champion will be there on Saturday evening, too.

Tighty will be running the Show, I'll be playing (briefly) & then abusing you all. Lovely.

Just need to work on Tom, Ralph, Andrew, Claire, Mr Giblin, & co to be there now.

I sort of dread these SPT weeks in some ways. The seats have been abvailable for months, & take up has been lethargic, though 111 seats have gone now, & G-Luton have been allocated 30, 5 of which are for a Live Super Sat tomorrow. (It needs 150 to hit the £30k Guarantee, which it will, with ease). But by Friday, when all the seats are gone, my inbox will be HEAVING with folks begging for a seat, & throwing a strop when I say I cannot assist. It was always so. Never mind, worse things happen at sea.

Here's the queue for seats at last year's renewal.

Tikay, have you ever had a fist fight with someone as an adult? If so, how did it start, and who won?

I'm bored, not asking for any particular reason, just wondering.
