Jason Somerville is a cool guy he has been a huge contributor to the somethingawful (Not work safe many of the sections) forums for ages and is hero worshipped there, being one of the lads. Not much reaction to him coming out, kinda non news. He has a great personality and spent loads of time answering questions etc so thats all that matters.

Can only hope that in the future people won't even have to go to the need of making an announcement on the issue. If your a homosexual, that's your choice and people should respect it.

As crudely as it was written, I fully agree with the post below that was on the first page.

GL to the guy.

+1 to all that. I thought the reaction to Welsh rugby legend Gareth Thomas coming out was fantastic. And football is long long overdue surely? It defies belief that there isn't one single gay professional footballer.

Was interested to read this: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2103193/The-Wembley-aquariums-Thierry-rebuilds-6m-home-make-va-va-room-storey-5-000-gallon-tank-300-fish.html Thierry Henry wants to knock down his London House & rebuild it with a 4 story fishtank rising through the building. A bit 'bling' but I must admit I'd love to have it (but not pay for it obv).

Best tanks I saw outside of an aquarium were at my mate's house in Bermuda, he'd 2 200 gallon tanks that he and his brother used to keep specimen seas fish & raise them to the point the Aquarium could use them as exhibits. Helps when you live on a small island with schools of the buggers around you though.

Eye-popping!

Do the maths stack up - does a 40' x 15@ tank hold 5,000 gallons? Does the technology exist in glass making to build such a thing? That's a hell of a sheet of glass, 40' high, 15' wide.

The biggest I have seen is in the Reception of the Mirage Hotel, in Vegas. Very impressive.

The Golden Nugget has that big one with sharks in it next to the swimming pool.

Over 11,000 gallons, but then 300 fish must displace a fair amount of water.

Over 11,000 gallons.

Sounds more like it. Don't now why it sounded wrong, but it did.

Might just be someone flying a kite, it's hard to believe such a story, & the cost would be just out of sight.

I want to believe it, though.

I mentioned a while back that, even though I have no interest in fishing and have never tried it, Keith Arthur has the sort of talking presence that I can listen to for hours.

Quite often, if there is no decent sport on the TV I will be working away with Tight Lines on in the background, not even taking note of what is being said.

Bit dissappointed that he feels the need to want to change the natural way of things with the otters. After all the otters were there long before man decided that fishing for sport as opposed to feeding the family was the norm.

Geo

This, you sum it up perfectly. Keith is so relaxed front of camera, it seems like he is talking to us one on one, & he seems a decent chap, so I was quite surprised at his otter stance.

I won't become a Keith hater just because of a difference of opinion, but I felt sort of betrayed.

I do this with some fella on that 865 channel at times too, even though I haven't a clue on the subject matter  Wink

Was going through Stu Rutters well again and was surprised that I had actually posted in the thread. Whilst I do read them all I feel unqualified to question these guys. I know that something in his responses to others must have made me want to pass on some sort of praise for his work

Tks for doing this again Stu, really enjoy your writing and some top com answers too.

Apart from the obvious WSOP ME, which tourney/event would you most like to win and why?

Geo

I then tuned in to listen to him on 865 and found it compelling listening, hence the reason I responded here previously.

Geo

Thanks Geo.

We are delighted to have signed Stu, he fills a nice gap for us, & definitely ticks a lot of boxes. He has the game, the cred, talks eloquently, & seems to have natural studio skills - gives good eye-contact to the camera, & speaks well, good vocab range, with a pleasing absence of "umms", "arrs", & "y'know"s. Explains the game in a way the bulk of the target audience understands too, does not talk down to the recreational guys, or divide the poker world into "regulars" & "fish", which so many do, & which is so dreadfully demeaning. Most of all, we have no worries that he may suddenly describe a play, or player, as "moronic", "retarded", or "spazzy".  The world of poker is so far removed from real life sometimes, but that sort of stuff remains a no-no in the real world, thank God.

We have a grand team now, with Thewy, Ryan, Redmond etc, all having signed up recently, & one more excellent analyst still to be formally announced.

And yes, I'm looking over my shoulder, insecurity is never far from my front door, but if it happens, no regrets here, I've had a great run. For now, the vibes I get from upstairs is that nobody understands the SP commercial message better than me, and in a rare moment of near-arrogance, I still think I have more patience, understanding & ability to help complete newbies & recreationals with the utter A-B-C basics than anyone. We, on blonde, would be hard stretched to imagine the sort of questions that trouble newbies, & how important it is to  address them properly. "Lolz, call you twat" never taught anyone anything. Age is a problem, too, who wants to hear a guy of near-pensionable age waffle on? Eventually, I'm gonna get 5 bet.

Cue "tempts fate" dismissal & put out to grass.

Did you take those?

Geo

Umm, no. I wish! But I'll take a bunch there soon.

Today will be the new cameras debut.
Good luck! You will be hooked.

Sadly, perhaps, I am already, examples to follow shortly.

And, thank you.

Why hasn't Sky got any Scotch representatives?

I imagine the sign up's would treble if they were to acquire one.

I know we don't do films but would recommend The Big Year. About 'birding' and trying to spot as many as poss in a year. The magic figure in the US seems to be about 750. Steve Martin is actually good in this and Jack Black is bearable for once.

Is there anything similar in the UK? What would be a good annual figure? Would you start the campaign in Drainy's back garden?

Nobody responded to this, which I thought was rather interesting, even if it was from a Fen-dweller.

You're the Arsene Wenger of Sky Poker.

When I say that, I mean with the good qualities Arsene has, as opposed to seemingly never ending flaws that are appearing daily...

I think you'll leave long before your pushed and that's the way it should be. I've absolutely no idea what your relationship with Rich Orford is really like, but its your chemistry that makes me tune in (appreciate there's other presenters, but I only ever seem to catch you two). The level of poker can be basic at times, but the sense of community you two help build is what keeps people coming back.

You should be immensely proud of what you've achieved imo.
