Almost every jellied eel/pie & mash shop round here and east london claims to have David Beckham as a regular customer. Surprised the lad isn't 20 stone.
This apparently is his most favourite
http://www.pie-and-mash.com/shop.php?74
He had some pics done there late last year for one of his photo shoots. I don't eat fish or sea food, I heard it's good for you. Might go in and try the pies tho. It's only 5 mins from me.

Paul Day, it seems.
Like that he used the word "vainglorious". What a grand word, not seen that in an age.
1. Boastful, unwarranted pride in one's accomplishments or qualities.
2. Vain, ostentatious display.
3. Cock-waving.
Sadly, his copybook was blotted when he said this utter & precocious tosh.....
To make a work of art that's going to succeed, for me, it needs to look like it was always meant to have been there. That it doesn't necessarily create a discordant juxtaposition. Juxtaposition is important but there also needs to be harmony, repetition and integration. There needs to be energies, different things rubbing together to create explosions which give a sense of energy to a place.

Tsk, tsk.
You are so upper-class, Rich.
It is not sauce,it is liquor, & the ingredients are a SECRET. The key to Pie & Mash is the liquor.

Glasgow. I'd love to do Glasgow, but as you insisted, I'll defer. Do you really want to have to cope with Flushy & Co?

In the right hands, that camera is a decent piece of kit for £130.

Hi Tikay.
Are you attending the SPT in Glasgow?
No, I drew the Brighton straw.
We have a "same day double header" on March 10, & Rich begged to do the Glasgow leg, so I had to reluctantly accept the Brighton job. You know how it is.
I believe you won your seat - I do hope the day goes well.
Not sure if you have been to Scotland before, but do be careful up there. Strange people.
I have also managed to qualify for this prestigious event. Do we get free stuff like satellite dishes with your face on them?

Rich, have a black pudding supper when you go to Glasgow. Take Anna with you. She will be putty in your hands afterwards.

Bugger. My Lappie has become infected with something called "Security Shield", & I now cannot open any files, or use it. (Am on Lappie # 2 now). Checked it out, apparently it is some virus thingie.
Guess I will have to get the IT people @ work to sort it tomorrow, unless anyone has some ideas suitable for an IT-illiterate? Cannot even access my Microsoft Outlook to do work stuff.
What a pain.
If you can, boot up in safe mode and do a system restore to a point before the infection. Otherwise, it's quite a nasty and invasive virus that's one.

Jumped in a cab yesterday, & the bloody driver started singing! Seems he does Sinatra style tribute acts, & he had his picture festooned all over the taxi.
He is, apparently, "London's sensational singing taxi driver". Quite so.

Looks like he made a mistake with his surname imo.

There used to be an "Eel Bar" at White City stadium which was quite often the highlight of my evening at the dogs.
You could either have hot eels and liquor or my favourite jellied eels, not sure about pies but it was a while back.
In fact I would often go in the five bob side of the track where most of the bookmakers stood and the finishing line was situated, and then walk around the whole stadium to the opposite side and past a commissionaire who would inspect my ticket as I passed in and out of the half-crown side of the track where the eel bar was situated.

start a diary of old time gambling tales please, snooker halls, dog tracks, card spielers
thanks.
I'll arrange for an Arshavin Alarm clock (wakes him up every time the ball is played nearby, only not quick enough) to go with your Cuckoo clock if you oblige

Anna Fowler, btw, is really lovely - a genuinely "what you see is what you get" girl.

What a pain.
You're in a world of pain with this one. It's removeable but not without access to the laptop and a couple of spare hours. One for the IT People.
