Thank you for all the rubs. Just remember, I crush @ deals. The nosebleed boys must have rolled their eyes @ that one.
Terrific weekend @ Brighton, all went well.
Stayed at a lovely Hotel out of town, got a pond, a fishery, ducks & geese, a heron, some sheep, lovely, but it has gone downhill a bit, they now allow children in the restaurant.
Worse than that, they allow children in the restaurant for breakfast, a time of day when NOBODY should ever utter a sound, never mind speak. Speaking before noon is just so common.
So this kid was practising using his vocal chords. Lovely. And I'm trying not to spear him with my cutlery.
And THEN his mother did that thing that tips me right over the edge. The thing was about 2, or 3, I suppose, sat in one of those high chair things. And the mother was
stroking his head
, like he was a bloody dog, & she was cooing & aahing ooing.

It was 4am when the Friday night Tourney - the one I crushed - ended, so was not in bed until 5, up at 10, in the Casino for 11, & on my feet without a break until around 1.30am.
I was wrecked by the time it ended, really exhausted. We had another event up in Glasgow, so we were on "half staff" @ each, & it was a bit much. Not sure we will do that again, as we cannot give enough service to the players at either Venue, so we done two jobs half well, rather than one well, & no doubt the moaners will be on our case tomorrow. Glad we tried it though.
Thewy almost made it 2 on the bounce, he fits so well @ Sky Poker, & we are delighted to have him. There are no more free rides in sponsorship deals these days, & he more than pays his way with results, blogs, playing on the site almost every day, Forum posting, etc, & the regulars adore him. He doubled up on the first orbit of the day - A-A v K-K, mbn, & busted Aces with 9's, standard stuff. For him.
On Final Tables, he uses his gears much better these days, & does not spew as he might have done a few years back. He made the Final in poor shape, maintained his mini-stack with well-timed shoves, then upped the aggro once it got 5 handed, & had a 5 or 6 to 1 chip lead heads up, but then it all went pete, & he finished 2nd eventually, for about £2,500 I think. Still, not a bad days work.
I was booked to play some Omaha & DC cash with Team Flushy, but it never happened, lack of time got in the way.
Today, I need to rest, I feel as flat as a pancake, so no poker, no nothing.
PS - Have just had a PM to say there is a DC game @ Luton tonight starting @ 6pm. They must be joking, wild horses could not drag me there tonight. In fact, I am almost not even having a dither about it.

Saw a bunch of these @ the Hotel. Not sure what they are - ducks, or geese?
Ducks & geese always seem so content with their lot in life. Give them a muddy field & a bit of water, & their life is complete.

This really set me thinking. How much rubbish do we generate every day?
Just south of the M23, on the A23 - the Brighton Road - are Pease Pottage Services, arguably the UK's smallest Service Station, well off the carriageway, too.
They keep it Nice & neat & tidy, & have litter bins everywhere, then a chap goes round twice a day - I know, because I asked him - & picks up all the litter, & empties all the litter bins. The chap was incredibly proud of "his" Service Station, by the way, & quite right too. Pride in the job is the greatest thing, I can't be doing with people who don't "attack" their jobs.
Anyway, here was his little cart @ 8am this morning.
There endeth the geekiest post ever on blonde but jeez, we must generate mountains of rubbish as a nation. In parts of West Africa that I have visited, not one bit of that would be wasted, the kids find a use for everything.

Thanks Tom.
Ps - How do you know that? Sounds a bit "old wivesy" to me.

As my Yoof Corry seems to be on holiday, here's something for Team Perv.
I understand it may be a pop singer, Rihanna.

I can barely believe it - did you realise that it was 15 years ago on Friday that Biggie Smalls met with his death?
Time just races by, & life seems so empty without The Main Man.

Kids, this is attitude, proper.

.....and exactly ONE year - it seems so much longer - since the tsunami, in Japan, which killed, I believe, 19,000 people - around 6 times that who perished on 9/11.

I think that was the pop video where she took her top off and started dancing around the field breasts exposed. The farmer went over all disgusted and told her to get orf his land. I can't explain that.
