Any thoughts on the changes to the registration fees at DTD Tony?
I'm sort of ambivelant towards it really, Ralph. In truth, it makes no real odds to me overall.
Pros & cons?
It will reduce the Prize Pools, as the entry cost is lower.
Harder for DTD to meet their Guarantees, but I guess they can adjust the Guarantees easy enough, but less scope for those big headine figures.
I trust DTD absolutely, so not a problem there, but I like to see full transparency as to buy-ins & Prizepools, so when a £500 Tourney is really a £440 (or whatever), other rooms might start messing about. I much prefer the UK System to the Vegas system, but this is a move towards the latter. Not a prob @ DTD, but might be if others copy it.
For most of us, spending less - as we will - means losing less.
I very much like the idea of challenging convention, trying to make things different, better. Even if it fails, I like initiative. DTD try to make things happen, the rest just let thungs happen.
On balance, I'm positive towards it, but for me, it does not make that much difference really.
I enjoy playing Tourneys there more than anywhere, bar, possibly, Vegas.
The cash games are good too - the main benefit being I can always get a game. If I go to Luton, I have to be there by x o'clock, or I don't get a seat.
You been watching Tiger tonight? Slowly returning to form, though it's hard to imagine he'll ever be the force he was. More, & better competition for him now, too. Which is good.
