Was booked for tonight's Live Show, 7pm until midnight, but the Director & Vision Mixer were both unavailable, & replacements could not be found in time, so now we have no Live Show this evening.

We are gonna record a bunch of promos & stuff now, to a fixed camera, but it's not the same buzz as "Live".

Am flat as a pancake, all that adrenelin & nowhere to go.

Been that sort of week actually. I've had an accident at home with a barbecue and the timber boarding on the terrace, (the resultant hole could be a feature, I reckon) another when I left a saucepan full of water on & it boiled dry, as I had forgotten & gone to bed, & I got a speeding ticket in the post.

Been a tad heavy & stressy on both Forums, too, such is the nature of the beast. Think I've fielded more abuse this week than in my entire life. Just have to turn the other cheek & get on with stuff.

Went to Luton last night to get away from it. Managed to set fire to £450, in keeping with my current fashion to set fire to stuff.  Did nothing wrong, or not much, just ran bad, it happens. But whilst I was sitting there, nice & quiet, doing a bit of money but nice & relaxed, the texts, phone calls & stuff started coming in. "Did you know it has all kicked off about bla bla?".  Umm, I do now.

I decided to hit and run at 10pm  - can you hit & run when losing, or is that called something else? - so sloped off at about 10pm.

By 10.45, I was at Hampton Court Bridge, exactly 1.2 miles fom home, eagerly ready to cook my dinner, yum yum.  Big sign, "ROAD CLOSED - DIVERSION". Followed the signs for miles, ended up in Kingston, followed the signs, which eventually took me back to....exactly where I had started. I  did two complete laps of that. Eventually worked out a detour via Ewell or Esher or somewhere, got home at Midnight.

Realised today why so many roadworks around Hampton Court right now - the Olympic bicycle race goes through there, so they are poncing everything up to make it look nicey-wicey. Been doing it for months, must have spent fortunes tarting up Hampton Court Bridge & the adjacent roads. God knows who pays for that.

Still managed to be up at 4.30 this morning, bright as a lark, all cheery-weery. Got to Hampton Court Bridge. ROAD CLOSED DIVERSION. Oh yea, so it is.

Backed a golfer today in the Welsh Open. He scored TEN OVER in his round, & then packed his bags & went home. Hopefully not via Hampton Court.

Tomorrow I'm going to DTD to splash around in the £500. Karma will get me a win, you just watch.

Ouch on the day, but I'm left thinking that despite all, you were still probably less pissed off than Mother was. Smiley

Sorry to hear about your rough week but it hasn't affected your writing, that line did make me smile.

i saw colclough yesterday at the rio strolling around. He's working with a company called chiptic which is some new technology used on a poker table to track chip stacks, its had a few teething problems to put it mildly. Do you know anything about this tony?

Morning Rick.

ChipTic? Apart from what has been in the Media, & that they tried it in the Casino Employees WSOP opener, no, though I see 2+2 have a thread about it......

As to Dave, I have not seen him or spoken to him for some time. I was chatting to a guy in The Venetian last year who knew both Dave & I, & he told me that Dave was living in the Philippines, & playing Live cash games.

I hope he is OK. We got along fine pre-blonde, but things got a little strained betwen us, as they so often do in business, & we had sort of different philosophies.

If you recall, he was also one of a bunch of chaps who DTD sponsored before they got their licence.

I saw him a few times later, post his blonde involvement, & things were a little awkward, but it was civil, we chatted, I took his photo for some stuff I was writing, & I hope we were cool.

Maybe I'll bump into him over there this year, I hope so, be good to chat, & put past business differences to rest.

I must say, we shared tables scores of times, & I much enjoyed his table company.

Crikey, the last few pounds are being really stubborn.

When it is not falling so fast, inevitably as the target weight draws near, it becomes more of a test. No problems so far though, have maintained absolute zero-tolerance, am eating mountains of good stuff, the fridge is stuffed with fresh fruit, & I feel pretty good, all things considered.

It ends in exactly 13 days time, proper fried brekkie @ Gatters, pre-Vegas. And so the annual cycle continues. Daft, innit?

Monday March 12 - 14st 0lbs

Monday March 19 - 13st 8lbs

Monday March 26 - 13st 2lbs

Monday, April 2nd - 12st 12lbs

Monday April 9th - 12st 10lbs.

Monday April 16th - 12st 8lbs

Monday April 23rd - 12st 6lbs

Monday April 30th - 12st 5lbs.

Monday May 7th - 12st 2lbs

Monday May 14th - 12st 2lbs.

Monday May 21st - 11st 13lbs.

Monday May 28th - 11st 12lbs.

Monday June 4th, 11st 11lbs

I class my self a northerner and live in Scunthorpe that i assumed was the North of England. We are taking the kids away today and going 200 miles north up the A1. We will still be in England far North of Dumfries and Lockerbie and almost as far up as Edinburgh. Who'd have thunk it. Berwick on Tweed get ready here we come.

Berwick-upon-Tweed is gorgeous, Jason, enjoy.

I'm thinking of returning to North West Scotland in late September or early October, get me a little cottage by a Loch again. Went there last Xmas, best holiday I ever had.

I often play Live Poker cash with a somewhat large gentleman, who must be north of 30 stone. He’s a nice enough chap, early middle-aged I would guess, but I fear for him, he has trouble walking, sitting, all sorts, as you can imagine.

He seems food obsessed, too, his sole topic of convo is the next meal, “ooh, can I have double spuds please?” sort of thing.

I was sharing a table with him the other night – poker table, not food table - & a pal of mine came & joined the game, good pal of many years standing.

“Diet still going I see Tony, but you ought to be careful, it’s not healthy to lose so much weight”. His comment was well-intended, & appreciated.

I guess it is social conditioning, or maybe good manners, but I wonder what would happen if he had said to the large chap “you really ought to shift a bit of that weight matey, it’s not good for your health?”

I remember seeing a stand-up comic making a point about obesity and smoking. I don't think it was really meant to be anything other than a gag but its an interesting scenario.

It is absolutely socially acceptable for people to advise smokers to stop smoking and most people that do smoke have been given some stick by someone about it at some point. As obesity climbs up the ladder to being the leading cause of preventable death (it may be there already, last source I could find in a quick google search was from 2008), at what point does it become socially acceptable to tell an obese person not to order dessert?

With the existence of the smoking ban and most people being considerate of non-smokers we've greatly reduced the amount of passive inhalation that non-smokers are exposed to. Once thats gone I'm struggling to find reasons to justify people preaching about smoking but not obesity.
