Stick me down for 2% please Tony, I've always been a big Don Quixote fan.

Oh my, Bankroll Nit ahoy.

Thank you Ralph. I promise not to fail to disappoint.

Some might say that my investment precludes me from being a bankroll-nit.

More rungood/runbad balance.

I purchased a lump of Evil Pie in the GUKPT Belgium last weekend.

I got a series of texts from him over the weekend, along the lines of "busto, send more  money".

It sort of went "busto the main, shall we play the sidey?"

"Busto the sidey, shall we play the sidey sidey?"

"Busto the sidey sidey, shall we play cash, the 5 10 looks well soft".

Think it cost about me £1,100 in the end. For all I know, he never left Nottingham, & was exercising the husky.

No more bad beat stories, sorry.

Still, Maria got the lot in the Main, or I think she did, she was going well in Level 1, according to Matt. He said "send her a text, she's steaming", so I did. She replied. I can confirm she was steaming.

Too good sir Cheesy

Guilty M'Lord.

By way of mitigation.

1) "some" are usually, like "they", right.

2) "Nit" is generally deemed in poker to be derogatory, but I see it as a compliment, very much so.

2) exceptio probat regulam in casibus non exceptis

Good luck us, & thank you, Sage of the Emirates.

good to see you last night Tony and you looked fit as a fiddle. How did that exit hand go again?

Don't go there Phil, don't go there......

And yes, was right grand to see you again. Everyone who saw the photo remarked how young you look. We must use the same moisturiser.

It just shows how looks can be deceiving Tony, I only pretend to be old on here but only today did I purchase a pair of trousers with an elasticated waist simply because they felt nice and comfy when I tried them on.

Rock on eh?

Just come back from week in French Centerparcs, and took some pics I think you'll like (and I'm quite pleased with).

Swan

Swallow (an absolute bugger to take an in-flight photo off, hence the iffy quality)

No idea what this is. Thought it looked interesting, but will probably turn out to be dead common

Lovely photos, Rex, thank you!

The swan (both) & female mallard are beautifully "framed", that's my big fail, & I have no idea how you "caught" that swift so well.

No idea what that very pretty little black & white jobbie is. We need Junior/Senior/Red/Rod on the case.

I'm sure I read once, or maybe you told me, that a few years ago, you found yourself penniless and homeless?

If so, how did it feel? And how did you rebuild, to manage to get where you are now?

Blimey, what a question!

Penniless, homeless, car-less, jobless, the clothes I stood up in, & the spare change in my pocket, no family, no nothing, that was it, 32 years of age & proper, proper, totally busto, after I got done for everything I owned, & more, by one Mr Barrymore Cordial.

I'm off to rehearse for tonight's Show now (= get some sleep, as 5 hours is energy sapping), & I have a very crammed week ahead, but I'll try answer that in the next day.

How's your health, short plump bloke? You were coughing shocking last time I saw you, WAY too many ciggy-wiggies. Diet still going badly, too? Yup, thought so. All good then.
I would love to hear/read this ...if you ever find the time please write about it

The black and white bird is a pied wagtail - a beautiful wee bird. Really good pic of it as well.

The secret to good framing is cropping, or 'cheating', as you call it.

The BBC have stuck a load of old documentaries on London up on iPlayer.

Looks like some interesting stuff here - including one about the building of the Victoria Line.

There is that Smiley. Just remember you always chop some off, but you can't add stuff in (unless you're REALLY good with photoshop). When I'm going through my photos, I crop and/or straighten virtually every single one.

The Pied Wagtail (thanks Rod!) was literally 6 feet from us - we were up a tree doing a high-adventure activity, and it was just sat there as we came off the ropes. That one was on a compact P+S. The rest of the birds are on a fat camera with a really big lens (the wife thinks I'm compensating for something, I've no idea what she's talking about). This lens, although on a different body.

Although, to be fair, the last 1/3 of the lens is hood. Positively understated once that's come off.

I've got about 20 misses of the swallow, that one was pretty much the only decent one. Keep snapping away and fingers crossed.

I thought this might interest you Tony as a run good story.

At the start of the 4th round of the 1998 US Open Lee Janzen was 5 behind Payne Stewart and  two early bogeys left him 7 behind at one stage. He drove his tee shot into a tree on the 5th hole. The ball never came down and was reported as stuck in the tree by someone with a pair of binoculars. Janzen took a ball from his caddie and was going back to the tee to play three from the tee when a big gust of wind blew the trees hard and his ball fell out into the rough.

From there he could only chip out and he then hit his third shot over the green from there he somehow chipped in for a par 4 which but for a bit of wind would almost certainly have been a 6.

He went on to win the event by 1.

Not sure if any of you noticed, but last night a chap - a Giant I believe - pitched a "perfect game" in Baseball.

I gather this is pretty rare. Not sure if there are other sports where something so rare happens? The report said it was "the 22nd perfect game" (I assumed in MLB), which, if true, given how much Baseball is played, must be quite something.

The photo is not from last night, but note the crowd all taking photos of the scorebaord.

"....I was there....." sort of thing I guess.

Must be almost worth a Tighty bell graph.

It is indeed a rare thing seeing as each team plays 162 games in the regular baseball season- See here for definition- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Perfect_game
