I did warn you......

Flushy has opened my memory to that trip, & I've never really written about it.

I spent 2 weeks playing, & 2 weeks working, & I was surrounded by friends, lovely. I met Tal & Doobsy for the first time, Phil Quayle (bobby1) & I spent a lot of time together, he is such a good man & I owe him so much. The crew I took from Sky Poker, as I was Hosting the VLV winners, was wonderful, & we had Thewy, JAKALLY, Dylan, Matt Bates, & Marc Wright amongst others. I ran with Simon Trumper & Rob for a while, too, both of whom are friends since way before blonde or DTD were ever thought of. Spending time in Vegas, around town, playing Comps with Thewy, JAJALLY, Dylan, Phil, lovely.

Meeting friends in Vegas, a long way from home, has an extra special dimension somehow.

The previous year Tom was in America, & he & Mrs Red came to visit once or twice. They walked to the Rio from the Strip, in 40c temperatures, & the poor souls were drenched in sweat & knackered from the heat. Tom was a lot slimmer then, too.

Sorry about all this, but blame Flushy, he started it.

I was having a look through this card yesterday when KevMath tweeted something about it and I followed the link. Those first couple of weeks in June look ever so tempting...

Thanks Tony.

I have to say, I think playing mixed game Tourneys at the Golden Nugget & Binions is the best thing ever, the atmo Downtown is unique.

Not sure if I will be in Vegas this year, fingers crossed & all that, but if I am, I will deffo be playing Downtown.

We all have different preferences, but when in Vegas, my preferred poker Venues are Binions, Nugget, Wynns, Aria, & Caesars, + I like Venetian for their Cash Games.

Odd thing, but I have never once played poker at Bellagio.

Thanks Ryan, I enjoyed that.

It is a good way of solving a difficult problem.

Back in the 60's & 70's, high rise blocks of flats were going up everywhere, but for a variety of reasons, many of them due to poor building standards, they went out of fashion & many were demolished. Shame really, as even if the flats were not exactly Grade One, a roof is a roof for those who cannot afford somewhere to live.

At one tiime, there was talk of converting what used to be called The Natwest Tower into flats, but it came to nothing. These days it resides in the dreadful title of "Tower 42", which sounds like an 80's rock band. Worth a few bob though, a geezer purchased it recently for nigh on £300 million.

Hope you & yours are well. Loved your tale on Camel's "One hand that changed your life" thread. Quite a story that.

This chap was spotted at a London Fashion show a few weeks ago.

He was a HUGE pop star back in the 80's, & he still does a bit of warbling.

Nowadays he is a respected painter - "artist" painter, not a tosh - & his work has been hung in many of the major UK Art galleries.

Who'd have thought?

Another famous, not to say lived-in face,  at the same Show.

How did he survive? He & I are of similar age.
