what the shitting hell.

that must be pretty weird experience to drive along that bridge 'to nowhere' then suddenly finish the final leg underground.

there must be a reason it's done like that, weird...

is it to allow a shipping lane?

that's it just instantly make me look a pillock rofl!!

Been trying to find this article this evening, in light of your judicial find:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/today/hi/today/newsid_9664000/9664697.stm

I should add that he is referred to as The Lord Judge as a written form of address, which is even better.

Superb.

However.......

This cannot be true, can it?

He was led to the subject after a being alerted to a scientific paper by authors JW Splatt and D Weedon on the subject of incontinence, on the same day as seeing a book on the Arctic by a Mr Snowman.

I'm not buying that!

Heard a good one on the radio this morning.

I see they've constructed Richard III's face from his skull. I love it when a Plantagenet comes together.

No.

I was intrigued by the reason, as generally, a bridge can be high enough, if the span is long, to accommodate most shipping, (QE2 bridge, for example) unless there are particularly high tidal ranges.

The answer, according to Wiki, is much better.

A bridge could not be built there, because it would have been too close to the Copenhagen International Airport.

Great photo though Rich, loved it.

No, we flew, as I recall.

Seems a bit of a long drive. Did you drive from Scotland?

That bridge/tunnel between Sweden & Denmark is an impressive 5 miles in length, or nearly so.

The Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel, in Virginia, is 23 miles long.

There are around 10 of these mega BNT's in the world, & three of them are in Virginia, for some weird reason. Now I have to work out why that is.
