AFAIK, a "gas turbine engine" can equally apply to a turboprop OR a jet.

Gas turbine engine = jet engine. Turbojet is what's fitted to jet fighters. turboprop where a power turbine at the rear of the engine powers a shaft which turns a propeller. Helicopters use turbo shaft engines, where the power turbine turns a shaft and through a g/box to the rotors,

. Turbofan engines are the massive ones on big jetliners. The turbine pushes some air around the engine and this is used as direct thrust .

I might need to get in touch with a fair few websites and aircraft manuals to put them right. So we should say the Bear does not have turbojet engines? Is that 100% correct?
Sounds a bit like semantics to me, but i'm know mechanic.

Correct. A turboprop is a variation of a jet engine. A jet engine uses the thrust coming out of rear to push the aircraft forward. A turboprop has power turbines which are driven by the thrust and they turn a shaft which through reduction g'boxes turns the propeller..

I've decided I don't want to walk around town holding a cup with my name on it, so this morning in Starbucks I went with "Tim".
It wasnt for any particular reason. It is sufficiently uncontroversial as not to warrant question and yet sufficiently different as to be distinguishable from the other drink-getters in the queue.
I'm not sure whether on my next visit, I will stick with Tim and create an alter ego or whether I will choose a different name. If the latter, the gambler in me wants to find out what the most ridiculous name I can get away with is.

While sitting in a similar establishment, snaffling the free WiFi (someone uses blonde too much...), I've been joined by a man who seems to think it is OK to cough without putting his hand in front of his mouth.
All over the table. That's where my tea is!
And he's reading the Daily Mail.
If he pulls out an @rsenal shirt, I might make the evening news.
