Bo Knows....

Watched a TV show the other night, over here, called "30/30", where, I think, they profile great sportsmen & women. This episode was spellbinding.

You are either interested in this, or not, but if you are, please read this......

 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bo_Jackson

This bloke is a sort of real life Superman, a human reincarnation of Roy of the Rovers.

One of the greatest NFL running backs EVER, and, at the same time, he ALSO played MLB Baseball. Like, say, Rooney plying footbll for Man U AND RL for Hull KR.

He was not as good at Baseball, but he did hit home runs which were longer than anyone before, or since, made miraculous fielding saves & throws, & awesome catches, including, literally, running along a vertical boundary wall.

His career in NFL ended when he dislocated his hip. He was SO powerful that when tackled, his momentum, strength & impetus, literally pulled his hip out of the socket. He had to have a replacement hip, & was the only athlete at that level ever to return to Pro Baseball (albeit, a shadow of his former self) with a replacement hip.

Personally, seemingly modest & arrogant at once, but rightfully so, rather like Daley Thompson & Robbie Williams.

These days, he hunts, with a bow & arrow.

Pleaae take a look at his Wiki page, what an astonishing man.

When struck out at Baseball, he would often break his bat thing over his head, or thigh, which to mere mortals would probbly deal them a serious injury.

In NFL, he did a famous "over the top" try thing, too.

You Tube must be full of clips of extraordinary runs by him, too.

Any NFL or MLB fans here, I'd love to hear more of this great man, & surely there must be a book somewhere?

Robbie f***********ing Williams, "rightfully so".

Perhaps that is short for having a new arsehole administered.

I despair, give up even.

Probably the greatest two sport athlete ever, would have been in two hall of fames if not for injury

At Alabama he won the Heisman (top college football player) and had MLB offers

One of the last to pursue both sports but by doing so shortened his career in both

Yeah I have seen it, just about all the 30 for 30 document are well worth a watch.

Even though he was a superstar in the nfl, his true love was baseball and to injure himself in the other sport is a pretty sad ending to his career.

Deion sanders played both nfl and baseball throughout his career.
