All that glitters is not gold.
What an incredible story!
Whatever the facts, she has a nice motor. Her bodyguards arrived in the Range Rover, seen in the 3rd photo.
Some life.
Camel told me she may not be a brass, but she is deffo a confirmed wanker. Look at that number plate.

Brilliant woman, died tragically young. Should have received a Nobel prize, but didn't. I hadn't even heard of her until after I left school, which is a travesty in itself. Rosalind Franklin, Alan Turing, Alfred Russel Wallace - how many great Britons fail to get the recognition they deserve? Bet most school children (and probably most adults) have never heard of two or possibly all three of those brilliant people.

Just heard that the train could have been travelling at 2x the recommended speed for that bend
The crash was caught on camera and it certainly appears speed related.

Oh wow.
The game was up before she reached the retaining wall. When things go even slightly wrong in such circumstances, there is no way back.
The energy in that crash is just extraordinary to see.

Tikay, how do British couplings work then? I can't imagine any design having much effect when it comes to horrific high speed crashes like that. Please explain.

Saw this on 2+2 and wondered
Had 2337 in the Bb see a free flop 4 way, lead a 37Kr flop, older dude with iPad and sky poker patch calls, K turn, I fire a good sized bet, he calls, my hand is almost always good here and as I decide what my next action in another ****ing K comes on the river, I check he fires small I wanna puke and fold, lucky ****
Ha!
Guess it would be hard to plead "Not Guilty" to that. I am very well-respected on 2+2, I have the coveted "LolPro" status there.
I don't recall the hand, but I'm pretty sure I know the kid concerned. He keeps an Online Diary, where he recalls, in aching detail, every street of every hand he loses (
how can these fucking idiots call
) & every hand he wins (
trapped the fish a treat
).
He claims he is 100% staked for both cash & Tourneys, & appears to have several backers in each.
He educated us all, too, telling us how badly we played every hand. It was after the WSOP $3k Final, which was streamed, & he said
did you see how lolbad they all were.
If I just had the money to enter, I'd wipe the floor with them.
Shortly after saying that, he somehow got the lot in pre with 7-7-8-9, which must be as near to the worst starting hand in PLO8 as it is possible to get. 7, 8 & 9 are the so-called "bandit cards", & if you have any of those in your hand in PLO8, it is immediately devalued. He had all of them!
He bluffed endlessly, too. Bluffing in PLO8 needs extreme care, there are only certain specific boards where you can even contemplate it.
Yes yes, of course mate. Plays poker every day of his life, does not have a penny to his name, & his arse is hanging out of his trousers. Proper pro, him
Anyway, I plead guilty, but my mitigation is I'm a fish. I know a lot about concrete though, if that helps?
That tickled me all weekend, thanks Simon. He was not the worst player I encountered, & if time permits, I'll write about him in due course. A classic case of do not disrespect technically bad players.
I'm aching to go back & play PLO8 & PLO for a week or two, if time, circumstances & money permit. Never had such a good time.
Yeah I read his diary thingy/ trip reports in the "las Vegas Lifestyle" board.
Glad to see its not just me that thinks he is not the worlds greatest too
That be him.
It is an endless series of
how do all these idiots get lucky against me all the time, when I'm so much better than them?
Anyone who has the temerity to beat him in a hand is a (a variety of adjectives deleted), & when he wins, it's all skill baby.
The poor lad does not understand how poker, & life, works.
I have read loads of poker blogs including this guys, in fact it's what I do a lot at work. I find it fascinating how people play and blog and how the playing styles and blogging styles are so similar. If anything it's taught me to be prepared to play both tag and lag in live events if needed.
Pretty sure yours is the best blog tikay because you never really know what will be on here. Sometimes I wake up in the morning and turn my thingy on and I have been on wiki looking at bridges when I returned from the pub. Wtf?
Ruprt E
Alex
Pokerdad
These are all in the top 5 along with anything Channing writes. His writing is getting better as he is getting older and grumpier. Imagine what he will be like at your age Tikay?
Thank you Mr G.
Do you have a link to Rupert Elder's Blog, please? Never seen it, but he's a very intelligent chap, with his own ideas, & not one to follow the 2+2 peer pressure, as so many sad souls feel obliged to.
And PokerDad, too, please. Who is that?
Agree precisely as to Channing. As he gets older, he writes better & better, & gets grumpier & grumpier.
Vegas was great with him around. When a problem arose, he was usually around one of the Cardrooms, & always ready to help with "table/player" advice etc.
Question - is "PokerDad" the same as "PokerDaddy"?
If so, I just realised who poker daddy is!
I believe, somewhat embarrassingly, I once made a move on......his Mum.

Good morning young lady.
Will reply soonest, but it may be Monday, as I have a bit of a heavy schedule between now & then.
I'm also hurting quite badly today, after someone - I really don't recall who - desecribed me as having "
a soul as grey & bland as.....concrete".

Another SPT weekend has arrived.
We only do 6 or 7 per year, but they seem to happen more often.
This weekend we are at DTD, so many of the usual worries we have elsewhere don't apply, as DTD have got everything pretty well sussed.
I really look forward to these weekends, but I'm getting a little old for them, & I always end up at 2am on Monday morning totally wrecked, & it takes me 3 or 4 days to recover my oomph & zing, & I suffer awfully from the andenelin hangover.
Tighty is immense at these things, I don't know how we'd manage without him.
Tonight is the fun evening, & I will play one of the Tourneys. I rarely play live these days - time constraints etc - but I spent a month playing Live in Vegas & never had so much fun.
Before that, at 6pm this evening, I have a meeting on a major matter with Rob & Simon. Am slightly nervous about that, as it is very important to me. We shall see.
Tomorrow, the Main Event is a 6 Max, which, in an ideal world, would be the way all poker is played, at least, for me, if not others. I get an invite from Next Door to play every event, but I generally decline, it just seems wrong to play when I should be working. I'll be torn between playing & not playing tomorrow, but I'll almost certainly not play, my job is to help oil the wheels of fun poker.
So many of my special friends will be there, too, & I don't get to see hardly any of them often these days, so that's a huge bonus. I've put nearly 2 stones on in the last 2 months, so I'll expect a bit of ribbing.
One or two individuals, who delight in abusing the Management & myself next door will be there, too, but they are generally warm & friendly face to face. How very odd.
We generally get a few who have too much to drink, & that's always quite awkward to deal with. I find it so hard to reason with folks who are drunk, & I get very uncomfortable.
On Monday, the Forum next door will be filled with "great weekend" type comments, interspersed with a few who struggle to make the transition from the internet world to the real world, & will complain about the Dealers, the Structure, or whatever. Guys, you need to understand, Online & Live poker are completely different animals. The human factor changes everything. Embrace it, or don't play Live.
We don't pay ANY cash at the Venue, it is all paid via their Sky Poker accounts. I wll mention this repeatedly in the pre-briefing, & all weekend, but it's a pound to a piece of poo that someone waits until the money bubble bursts & then complains that it is not fair. Happens at every event, sure as God made little apples.
I'll be besieged by folks who want a seat at the last minute, too. I'll think "
but you've had 6 weeks to sort this, why wait until now?",
but I'll say "
OK, I'll do my best to sort it, bear with me please
". Then I'll ask Rich to sort it......
It'll all go fine, I'm sure. Between Noon & 2pm on Saturday, I get incredibly stressed, that is when things can go wrong, folks turn up who have qualified & we've missed them somehow, or maybe someone else sorted a seat & they swapped it without telling us. but once the Event starts, a huge wave of relief rolls over me, & I'm fine then.
Anyway, I hope everyone that comes along has a fun weekend. That's the whole idea, but somewhere along the way, a few people seem to forget that.
I'll be alright on the night.
