8.30 in Vegas and still no sign of our hero.  Maybe this is a good sign and he final tabled?  What do we employ Jeeves for?  No doubt he has left his post to see the more seedy side of Town.

Morning all, & sincere apologies for the slowroll & apparent disappearance.

I ran out of I-pad battery at the exact moment I ran out of chips. I actually typed the hand into my I-Pad, but the battery gave up the ghost, sorry.

Full details will follow in the Tourney Report, but the exit was, I think, standard stuff. Note it was PLO, not PLO8.

It was almost the very last hand in Level 6. I had something in the order of 25,000, @ 250-500, about to go 300-600 next level.

Aggro # 1 & Aggro # 2, between whom I was sandwiched, were giving me a really hard time, & I was pretty sure one of them would double me or bust me when the right moment arose. The pair of them were playing it like a Turbo - in Level 4, they had managed to get 60,000 chips in the middle PRE FLOP with.....

A-J-10-10

....and

K-10-6-2ccdd

By now, Aggro # 2 (to my left) had 200,000, & was just abusing the entire table. So I just needed a decent hand to take him on with, & a 2xUp (or bust....) would surely follow.

I'm dealt this beauty.....

Aggro # 1 (to my immediate right) opens, as per, I pot it, Aggro # 2 (to my immediate left) flats, Aggro # 1 calls.

Once we saw this flop, there was no backing down, imo....

Aggro #1 checks, I pot, Aggro # 2 repots, Aggro # 1 folds, I get it in.

My man tables....

Hard for him to have flopped much better with that. It reminded me of the 5-7-8-9 coup @ Binions.

The spade turned (BOOM) but another 4 rivered (UNBOOM) & that was that.

It's precisely the sort of hand I want looking up with, and exactly the sort of hand I expected him to have, so I've got no complaints, I'd take that pre-flop match up all day every day.

Bit of a shame really, & no denying I felt a bit deflated afterwards. I'm a bit bewildered, to be honest, at the ranges these guys go to war with. Not dissing it, not at all, but to a traditionalist, it's all a bit confusing, & I need to take a long hard look at my ranges. I know I'm way too tight, no argument there, but sheesh, these guys have really eclectic ranges.

Welcome to Omaha, folks.

^^^

A guy called Chance Kornuth (who I once sat next to once for a couple of hours in a Venetian DS) won the $10K PLO a few years ago at the WSOP and I was looking through a few of the HH's from when he played and I couldn't believe that he was playing the same PLO that I usually do.

Where are we off to this afternoon then?

You remember the old fish and chip shops used to have a neon light outside that said "Frying Tonight", well I reckon that you need a "Ripping Tonight" sign.

What you need is Channing out there railing you. And what's Jeeves doing let your I-pad battery run down?

Am on with the latest Bloggy thing right now.

Not much ripping, but plenty of yawns yarns, including one of the daftest things I've ever done.

Wow I log on to see how many bracelts we won and to count my money and all I get is pages of spotting drones in the desert. What about the RNAs? Have we actually even ripped anyone a new wotsit yet this trip?

I just tried to think of the daftest thing I've ever done and I think this has to be right up there.

When I was 17 I was in the pub and it was my round, I wanted to ask the local hard man, (who was in our company) what he wanted to drink, but he was busy chatting up some bird. So to attract his attention, I lifted his hat and slapped his bald spot.....

Did you buy a catheter?
It would seem a shrewd investment for a man of your age and condition.
