RR and JA
Once had a lovely S&G with RR at The Mirage.
Wonderful Guy, and a very happy memory. Especially as I won!

So, wandering down Piccadilly yesterday morning, a little doorway has this sign above it. Must be some famous peeps go there, right?
And a little old silver-haired man was entering the front door. I don't really watch much telly, but I insta recognised him. Much shorter than I imagined, probably because he has, like Nirvana, reached the shrinking age. Old people do shrink you know.
I had no desire to meet him, & yet, for some reason, I got a little "ooh, look who it is" tingle.
Quite a career he has had, too, must be minted.
Insta gave him 9/10 for famousness.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barry_Cryer
Has how own website, too.
http://www.barrycryer.co.uk/
Describes himself as "incredible entertainer" & "a true comedy legend". Deducted 4 points for arrogance & lack of humility.
Deducted 2 more points as he failed to recognize me.
Strange how I get a little thrill from seeing people like him. I was at the Cafe De Paris in Monte Carlo a year or so ago, & John Cleese was on the next table, I was chuffed to bits.
At work last week, Helen Chamberlain stopped to chat with me, we had worked together 7 years ago, & I saw Phil Thompson last Friday, & we chatted about stuff.
Not sure what the "famous" fixation is, but it does give me some kind of kick.
OK, that's the name-dropping sorted.
Spooky.
The family in laws had Afternoon Tea at The Ritz yesterday, not my normal "cup of tea" hoho, but was a free afternoon off work so what the heck.
Afterwards we walked passed the Bafta place and I saw a guy coming out I recognised, but for the life of me can't put a name to the face(normally good at this sort of stuff). Black fella, with a sort of lisp and sure he was in a Snatch/Lockstock type film, with a big afro.
I then also saw the guy that plays the Spanish barman in Benidorm! What a day!
Just eaten the best Pork Pie ever, that I bought from F&M.

A one man's street market stall? If the rest of it is as clumsily written it may be hard work.
I love your book choosing methodology though.
When our children were little, and now with the grandkids, on toy shop days we adopt a rule of only one thing being allowed in the basket at a time. Keeps the decision making simpler.

Long time Suzy Perry fan, she was that special extra ingredient that made Moto Gp so very watchable. Loved her, dreamed of doing things with her, trips to the allotment together, that sort of thing.
Then she joined the BBC1 F1 Team. Can't watch F1 coverage minus Brundle, and I certainly could not watch the two oh-so-wooden & dated stooges flanking Suzy here.
Not 100% sure, but I don't think David Coulthard actually attends the GP's, that's just a cardboard cut-out, & someone moves the lips. Everything he says is predictable, so it'd be easy enough.
But today......I saw.........Suzy Perry........wearing.........spectacles.
Oh my. I'll have to leave home now, & hunt her down, marry her & everything.
Men don't make passes at girls who wear glasses? I think they do.
Sends a shiver down my spine just thinking about a be-spectacled Suzy.

Thanks Tonji.
Agree, she seems to be a workaholic.
I was seconds away from being introduced to her at the Sir Peter O'Sullevan Awards dinner last year, Channing was steering me in her direction, but she was swept away at the last second by her entourage.
Damn damn damn.

Just research isn't it? Problem is we get so used to seeing people who've done the sport we are watching but have barely read the morning paper on the way in to the studio.
Why shouldn't presenters be able to challenge the pundits?
Yes, diligent homework, she cannot possibly know so much about so many sports.
Very much the safest pair of hands at the BBC these days.

Just heard the following at a local comp:
"Yeah might go to gala tomorrow. They got that omega tournament on"
Someone should tell Michel Platini.

She looks years younger, as any well chosen accessories should do.
You can make your mind up as to which picture I'm referring to.

I can only imagine you would have a small 'sex wee' if you had seen Richard Branson, as I did, this week.
This was the highlight of my life in famous person terms, can you name em Teeks?

Are there initials RR & JA?........
Bit embarrassing, I've stared at both photos for an age, but I've no idea. Tell me, & I'll say "oh yes, of COURSE"....
The really famous one is Barry Carter, surely? Proper TV veteran, him.

Has there ever been a more professional, accomplished, hard working & versatile Sports TV anchor than Claire? Bred for the job, too.
I think she is brilliant
Doesn't quite seem to work on Channel 4 racing though, from which i gather she is leaving at the end of the year
Probably better on "marquee" sport like Olympics.
Much loved gravitas, which the BBC presenters can do so well
Agree, but she will go much further, she's barely begun, imo.
10 years down the line, she'll be the BBC's new Richard Dimbleby. She has that lovely balance between informality, deference & knowledge.

Speaking of Richard Dimbleby, I just happened upon this photo.
I wonder how those kids turned out?

Top one is Ray Romano, star of everybody loves Raymond, IMO the most underrated sitcom of all time.
Bottom one is Jason Alexander, aka George costanza, the greatest sitcom character from the greatest sitcom of all time, seinfeld.
Both keen poker players, this was at ante up for Africa in Vegas, I happily ignored matt Damon and Ben afflek but could not contain my fanboy when these guys showed up. Alexander was super nice.
