Leif Force? What a character. I'd love one of those names that sort of say something.
Leif Force.
Great name, eh?
He is a bit weird, but the real deal. Generally wears the same clothes all series, but his hair changes. Here we see Leif displaying both his Wolf Man & nirvana hair styles.

Do you ever use Wikipidea?
Pretty sure we all do, to a greater or lesser degree. I reckon I use it upwards of 20 times per day, it is just so useful. We used to buy whacking great volumes of Encyclopedia Britannica, cost us fortunes. Their print division must long ago have perished.
With Wiki, & google, it's never been easier or quicker to learn so much. Read a book, or watch some TV, & every 5 minutes, I have that need to go to Wiki & look up the what & why of something or someone. It's just awesome.
I was reading Bryson last night, as he dribbles round Britain, & had the need to Wiki several times per chapter.
Anyway, I was staggered to see a list of the Top 25 "most viewed" Wiki Pages the week before last.
Scientific research? Why does it get dark at night? What is ear hair in elderly chaps all about? How does a TV picture come down that tiny cable? How the hell does an I-Pad swipe left & right, or how when you adjust the clock on a smartphone, the "counter" appears to revolve, like the reels on a one-arm bandit?
No no no, none of those matters.
Top rated was a frigging BATMAN film.
2nd was Patty Duke. In 3rd, understandably, was Donald Trump, & "Deaths in 2016" was no surprise at #6.
But now it gets com. In 7th place.
WrestleMania 32.
Which, considering we are assuming they are old enough to read, was quite a shock. WrestleMania is the 7th most viewed Wiki Page in a week?
And there have been THIRTY TWO of them? Surely kids grow out of it when they start school?
Read the list & weep. Think I'll go back to those lovely old encyclopaedias. No wrestling shite in them.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Top_25_Report
100,000+ in attendance this year at Wrestlemania, which is no mean feat.
I stopped watching wrestling a long time ago, but when I started my job working the nightshift, it was always on at 1am on a Monday night. I ended up watching it every week live, and it's just as entertaining to me as it always was.
I was a huge fan as a kid, as I imagine loads of people were in the late 80s and late 1990s when it was booming. Wrestling in general is undergoing quite a revival in the UK, and there are big shows happening every weekend.
I went to a show in London in December with 11,000 people at Wembley Arena and it was a brilliant night out. I'm going to a weekend long tournament in London next month which should be equally as entertaining.
It's quite a divisive method of entertainment. It's essentially a TV show that never ends, the stories just happen to be easy to follow and instead of conversation to advance them, they "fight".
The above video explains wrestling and focuses one one storyline that has been continuing since 1996, and despite being 20 minutes long sums it up very well. It's a TV show, about a wrestling show.
I heard a quote once which sums wrestling up quite nicely - "For those who enjoy it, nothing needs to be said. For those who don't, nothing can be said to change their minds".
Good comeback, very well played.
As I'm sure you had sussed, my tongue was firmly in cheek, and I very much believe in each to their own. And if folks enjoy that kind of thing, fine, so be it. My only objection is betting on it. We have a betting thread, & we often see Recommends to bet on American Wrestling, or whatever it is called, & I really can't be having that.
We also see bets suggested on something called Lol-ESports. "Lol" = League of Legends" I gather. Pretty apt name, that. It's kids, playing Space Invader & the like, but in competitions. And again, it gets huge crowds, who turn up in their tens of thousands to watch these kids clicking buttons. And online, according to the hype, 32 million - 32 million - watched it.
Some things it's hard to understand, it really is. So many wonderful things to do with our precious & limited time, & folks go see this, or a Star Trek Convention. Cretins, all of them.
Have they never stood at the far end of Platform 1 at Kings Cross or Paddington with a notebook? Now that's a proper hobby.

Love storytime, always great reading.
We'll have to get you along to the T-Mobile Arena this summer, so you can see some live UFC
Better put me down for 1% of your action, please.
At least I have a shot at getting out of it then.
UFC?
You jest.
I could not watch that if you paid me.
Horrible, brutal stuff. I'd not expect to see animals behaving like that, never mind human beings.
I'd ban it, that's what I'd do. Whatever happened to going to a Barry Manilow or Doris Day Concert, or attending the crown Green Bowling Championships?

Have never ever seen a UFC match, is that typical? Looks obscene. Am with you on the bowls. It seems much more fun. Or maybe a bit of PLO8, though the riff raff seem to be taking over. Die of cancer you **** etc. aye, good chance of that, fella, how are things with you?
Can you put me down for 2 per cent. Have more or less given up staking, but can't resist for old times sake.

Wow, that had me welling up, John.
It's hard to tell at this point, & from where we sit, but Danny Willett strikes me as essentially a decent sort.
Here he is with Nicole, his wife & Zach (what?) their new baby thing, he's taking a month off golf for "family time" I gather. Feet seem firmly on the ground.

I jest not, and will be taking a scooter trip over to the new arena to watch.
Combat sports, and I think you must have Googled 'Bloodiest UFC match ever', to get that
Sinead 'O' Connor might sing Conor McGregor in that night, so you get 2 for the price of 1.

Completely agree about the TV coverage being far too intrusive and been seeing it too often in the past few months in Sport. Thought it was out of order at Cheltenham right before a race they were trying to get a response from jockeys basically holding a mini interview right before the race, stfu and leave them alone. Then in Pac vs Bradley fight at the weekend they were interviewing Freddie Roach during a round, what the hell leave him alone to do his job watching his fighter not having to give an interview. I guess this is the plan going forward for TV companies due to trends with social media and people's obsession with prying into other people lives, I think it's all very bizarre.
I had they exact same thoughts as you with the final day of The Masters, very nearly turned it off after Speith played the 9th as was sure he was a lock, thankfully I kept watching, great sport. I knew nothing about him but even before he had a legit sweat I was very impressed with how composed Willett was playing, superb to watch. It was as if it was scripted to have him and Lee Westwood together on that 16th hole to see Speith had gave up his lead, have to say it was no shock to see Westwood "choke" again, defended him on here previously in regards to that matter but so many times now that he's been in a great position to win a major and just can't get it done, I was shocked at how happy he was in his interview with that being the case but I guess maybe the huge 6 fig payday is enough for him, be amazed if we ever see him win a major now without him massively improving mental side of his game as it seems very likely that's a problem for him now.
Good stuff, Ray, & I agree as to this intrusion into everything, it's getting too much. That stuff with Willett was way too much.
They even fit the players in Pyjama Cricket with microphones now, & speak to them between balls.
How is life treating you, anyway? Still pokering a lot? Think I recall you were in a stable now, or with James, is that going OK?
How will you cope with Sky Bet Championship Football next season? If Sunderland go down as well, it's a great chance for the 2 Clubs to re-gather & get back quickly I'd say. It's certainly not a disaster, sometimes these things work out for the better. Top of the Championship will feel better than Premier League also-rans imo.

Afternoon Tikay. Please note that you havent put me down with a % yet on the above list. Not sure if that is your subtle way of telling me to GTFO or you need Vince to sort your list out, but please put me down for 1% defo....possibly 2% nearer the time/If available.

Life is good thanks, never took my bad beats better
I'm part of the BITB Stable which is a lot of fun, working reasonably hard but can always do more.
Really not too fussed about the football tbh, I just don't really care that much about it at present and haven't for a couple of years now. I'll be sad for about 10 minutes when we get relegated but other than that it's just not that important to me anymore. I expect one day in the future my heart may return to it but for now I'm pretty happy being disillusioned with the game.
Enjoy the Vegas trip, always enjoy your Vegas diary rails, glgl.

Sorry to flood the Diary with Staking stuff, as it does not interest everyone, but I need to keep the list up to date, & it'd be rude not to update new investors.
Today's update is to correct the omission of 1% to Knottikay, & add the 2% for Mr Doobs.
Brad the Boss 5%
Nakor 1%
KarmaDope 2%

To do lists?
Do you ever add a job to said list that you complete within the timeframe of the list just so you can cross it off?
I'm getting more & more behind, but hopefully I'll not forget any questions. So, 3 days late......
No, never "cheat" to make myself feel better, that's like cheat days on diets, makes no sense. Lots of little items come in & go straight back out again during the day, dealt with instantly, so they don't make the list. It's really just bigger things, & items carried over. Intra-day stuff does not have a list.
I've seen all manner of different to-do lists, computerized, & pen & paper, simple ticks or colour coding with a marker pen. But most people need one, imo.
They are quite motivational actually, or they are to me. Once the task is done, it's quite satisfying to put that tick against it, & move on to the next item. When I close the Company Lappie, & I've ticked most or all boxes, its a really good feeling, it makes me feel as if I've achieved something.
Sadly, I'm vastly under-used Next Door, & could do a lot more if they would allow me to. I'm only contracted for 5 x 7.5 hour days per week, & I exceed that vastly, but it's not about money so much as being driven to succeed & help make a contribution. Today, I had almost nothing to do at all, yesterday was busy, including writing an important article. There's always stuff at weekends, too.
First job each morning is to move unticked items from yesterday to today. There are usually 5 or 6, as items that arise after mid-afternoon I generally defer to the next morning - I am way more efficient & motivated in the morning, first thing, than late afternoon.
I simply could not operate without my to-do lists, I've kept them in the same form - A5 Notebook & pen - for nearly 50 years now, every day of my working life. Sadly, I've still got most of them, too, I'm a dreadful hoarder of useless paperwork.
I've just read that back, & even I fell asleep halfway through it. Apologies, can't help myself, I am Mr Tony Trivial.

Been trying to book my Vegas flights this morning. Nightmare. NIGHT MARE.
Everything is so bloody complicated when we book rail or air travel.
Sometimes, less choice works better.
I can book Virgin Atlantic by three means.....
Money
Miles
Money + Miles.
Availability differs on all three.
For "money", I can book whatever day & cabin I want, easy peasy.
For the other 2 options, including Miles, not so easy. PE is not available, & a PE Upgrade is only available on the return flight. Economy only it seems.
I gave up after an hour, frustrated & stressed to bits. Guess I'll have to re-gather myself & do it tomorrow.
Quick shout out to Simon Galloway, who helps me with these things, he's been a star, & I've been a pain.
Hotel to book next, I might put Marky in charge of dealing with my hotel headaches. Seems only fair to spread the pain.

Simon is a legit legend with all the flight stuff, and it gives me a headache.
Will gladly scout about some hotels for you, if you give me your dates, when booked.
I'm guessing somewhere nice with Gill, and then just Starbucks required when you're punting it off?
