When I got home last night from what was essentially a 5 or 6 day trip away, I went to log on to Sky Poker to start my "thank you's" & continue with my usual duties until the curtain falls early next week, only to find that my account has been...... SUSPENDED.
FFS.
It's nothing to do with my retirement, & there's nothing to see here, so to speak, but the bottom line is, right now, I can't access the Sky Poker Forum even to read only. The Boss is trying to sort it, but it's quite complex, so I don't know if I'll get back on there before it closes.
So if any regulars from Next Door see this, please just put up a notelet saying that I've not jumped ship, I'm just having access problems & hope to be back on in a day or two.
Bit of a weird ending to my 18 very happy years there, but it is what it is.
Meanwhile, with no work duties elsewhere, I might just get my blonde Diary going again. I had to give priority to my work, but that is (almost) history now.
The problem of course is that unless they are your Dad or Grandad, there's no such thing as an interesting 77 year old & they are, with just a few exceptions, a bit boring. I don't mean to insult any 77 year olds, a few are exceptions to the rule, but I'm sure you get my point.
Anyway, that's where it's at.
Posted this on your thread.
"Just a note from Tikay.
He can't access the forum right now as he has login issues that aren't easily resolved.
He is hoping to be back before this closes, but isn't deliberately ignoring anyone.
I will likely just screen shot messages if he doesn't get back."
Was very tempted to just post "say what you like about him now, he's gone"
Ahh, thank you very much David.
Thanks David you beat me to it although anyone could tbf, this is the only forum I've stuck with over all the forums nevermind posted on. I regret not supporting a few certain people more than I have and Teeks is at the top of the list. Maybe in the afterlife if there is one that is, I'll be a better person!

I'm constantly amazed at how many blondes are still lurking out there and popping in occasionally.

I guess you may have missed it, but just realised The Pixies are doing a residency at the Wynn. This is a sentence I never expected to write. Hence it wasn't on top of my list of things to book my week around. Sure you won't be missing it, Teeks, please report back.

The Pixies? I was ging to be sarcy & mock you (I've never heard of them), but I just played "Where Is my Mind" & I really enjoyed it. Not enough to go see them at The Wynn though...
I delegate Chompy to be the one to go to all the naff Vegas gigs.

News on the various disputes.
Pleasantly surprised, shocked even, that Avanti/WCML have accepted responsibility & are sending me £85 via a BACS payment. Surprisingly quick & efficient, fair play to them.
The Tesco Cowboy Parking Outfit? They sent me an e-Mail with the Subject Heading of....
Appeal Submission Successful
I confess, I did a little fist pump, YESSSSS!
It was not quite what it seemed though - it was just a clumsy way of saying that my Appeal Form has been filled in correctly & now they are going to review it.
I suspect alanc has nailed it, & I'll be shuttled back & forth between Tesco & the Parking company.
No way I'm paying it though.

Arrived safely in Vegas last night. That flight seems to get longer every year.
Obviously, after the week I've had dashing hither & thither it made no sense to play any poker last night.
Well, just a little sesh to knock a bit of ring-rust off, at the $4-$8 Limit O8 tables, sat with $400 & 2 hours later cashed in for a whopping.... $429. I've yet to decide how to spend that $29 profit.
This morning it was "jobs morning", sorting out my Venetian Players Card (I lost my last one), paying in to the $600 Big O at Venetian, (starts at 12.10 Local today) collecting my hire car & picking up some bits & bobs at Walmart & Walgreens.
In just over an hour, the Great Retirement Adventure begins with that Big O affair. Bit nervous, but it is what it is. Seat 7, not ideal, but no matter, whatever happens I'm going to enjoy.

I'm not sure about Updates. Stu (Rutter) has killed the market really, he does them SO well, & I can't begin to match that.
Depends how it goes I suppose. Fair to say, in the unlikely event that I actually cash in something, I might just mention it...

On the topic of chirping, I'm afraid I cannot resist chirping. My 4 page "retirement thread" Next Door had me welling up.
https://www.skypoker.com/secure/poker/sky_lobby/community/forums#/discussion/194885/time-to-move-on-to-the-next-chapter
Isn't that amazing?
Sadly - very sadly - I can't currently access the Sky Poker Forum from Vegas to thank them, & the Forum will disappear for good on Tuesday, so I may not get the chance. Annoying, very much so, but just one of those things.

Sky poker's loss is our gain!
Best of luck and I'm looking forward to many pages of your updates which we all enjoy no end as you well know.

Had quite a few of these from Horizon, they are easy to appeal and they are relatively reasonable when you give them the information. Never had to pay one yet. If anyone ever tells you to just ignore them though, don't.
Congrats on your retirement. 77 is an amazing age to still be working, I'll be happy just to be alive and healthy at that age. Good luck in Vegas, and let me know when you and Tom are heading out to Malta. Some nice festivals here, mixed games too. Not just Hold'em.

With 10 minutes to start time, just 15 entries but 7 hours (SEVEN HOURS) of Late reg.
May have to review my policy of always being seated at the very start.
